Comedian Jason Biggs is apologizing to Courtney Stodden for past personal attacks on social media, which he says were meant as jokes, but knowing how she feels makes them "not funny at all."
The 'American Pie' star sent the influencer and reality star a direct message on social media, which she shared with her followers. The message included details about how the comedian is now "clean and sober." Part of that process is being held "accountable" for his actions.
"Hi Courtney -- I wanted to drop you a note to say that I'm sorry for any tweet that I made in the past that may have hurt your feelings. They were meant as jokes -- but they were at your expense, and knowing how you feel, that makes them not funny at all," the message begins.
Jason Biggs: I'm Living A Clean And Sober Life
Biggs continued, "I am trying my best these days to live a clean and sober life, one in which I make good and healthy decisions -- and that means accountability for the bad decisions I've made in the past. I wish you nothing but the best and happiness and success always. Xo Jason."
Courtney appreciates the gesture and shared the message with her 300,000 followers, saying, "This is what a personal apology looks like. Everyone makes mistakes but not everyone takes real accountability. Jason, I felt this. I wish you love and immense success to you and your family."
Obviously, this was a knock on Chrissy Teigen, who attempted to apologize to Courtney on social media but caught heat for posting it publically on social media accounts that Stodden had previously blocked. As we reported, Chrissy has had numerous issues with being "canceled" in Hollywood -- and addressed the situation in the past few days.
"Sending it directly to you vs posting it on a social media account that has you blocked shows a lot more integrity than the previous apology we talked about!" one fan agreed.
Courtney Stodden Speaks Out About Online Bullying!
Courtney Stodden has previously spoken out about celebrities targeting her on social media, including Jason, after she married actor Doug Hutchinson at 16-years old. "I was a joke every night for Anderson Cooper on the Ridiculist. I was a target for celebs like Wendy Williams to call me a slut. I was perfect for Chrissy Teigen to bully and tell me to go die in the dirt," she said.
Adding, "Jason Biggs loved harassing me, making me feel like trash. Amongst a plethora of others."
The reality star's fans are pumped about the situation, with one person commenting, "Courtney!! You are taking it back ๐๐๐ฅ I love you, you warrior goddess princess queen mama!!" Others are giving praise to Biggs, saying, "Super cool of him. Hope both your healing journeys are kind to you."
