Andy Cohen Still Hoping For Madonna Appearance On ‘WWHL’ Despite Tricky Situation

Andy Cohen has been known for 20 years as the face of Bravo courtesy of his head honcho duties over the “Real Housewives” franchise and his hosting duties on the network’s late-night talk show, “Watch What Happens Live!”
Although he’s interviewed some of the biggest names in Hollywood, there is one person who has consistently declined the opportunity for chatting and cocktails with Cohen: the one and only Madonna.
Andy Cohen Reveals Reasoning For Madonna Declining ‘Watch What Happens Live!’

Madonna has been mentioned repeatedly by several guests who have visited “Watch What Happens Live!” throughout the years, and sometimes not in the most flattering ways, which, according to Andy Cohen, is the reason why she has yet to appear.
While on the “How To Fail” podcast in November 2025, Cohen revealed the reason he believes what has kept the pop icon from visiting The Clubhouse. The Bravo boss said the comments of past guests about Madonna are the likely reason why she has turned down the show for the past 23 seasons.
"The problem is that a lot of people have slagged Madonna off on my show and because of that it gets picked up," he explained. "I think she sees me sitting there with the guest and I'm guilty by association."
Cohen went on to say that he went the extra mile to entice the superstar to appear, sharing that he and his producers put together a “comp reel of five minutes of me kissing Madonna's a-s on my show."
Cohen Is Still Optimistic That Madonna Will Eventually Make An Appearance

Cohen is not going down without a fight and is still holding out hope that Madonna will stop by despite the tricky situation standing in the way.
Recently speaking with Entertainment Weekly, Cohen replied to questions about being hopeful of his Madonna dream visit coming true, saying, "I am. I hold out hope."
"We're in year 16. They picked us up for two more. So look, she's got ‘Confessions’ coming out this year and, you know, I'm an optimist," he added.
Cohen also pointed out that he has been able to land some of the biggest stars to come on the show, so Madonna could be next on the list.
"We're a little show, we're all the way down in SoHo. The fact that Oprah came down before we were even five years old, that was a huge deal," he recalled.
Madonna Previously Called Out Cohen While On Tour

In 2023, during her Celebration Tour at Brooklyn's Barclays Center, Cohen was in attendance and when she spotted him she had some playful yet pointed words.
“If you say one more bad thing about me on your show, you’re gonna get in so much trouble," Madonna said, per Entertainment Weekly. "You little troublemaking queen!"
Ever the fan, Cohen replied, “I love you” to the pop star as the crowd cheered on.
Shortly after the show, Cohen shared more thoughts about the moment, saying, "I’m a life-long Madonna fan, so it’s a thrill and an honor to be called a 'troublemaking queen' by the Queen of Troublemaking."
Andy Cohen Shared A Standout Moment About His ‘RHOP’ Sit-Down With Karen Huger

The season 10 finale of the “Real Housewives of Potomac” aired on Sunday, February 1, with a special episode dedicated to Cohen’s one-on-one interview with Karen Huger a week after her jail release in September 2025.
While speaking with Huger exclusively in her home, the two discussed her alcohol and prescription drug addiction, her arrest, sentencing, and the viral arrest video that sent her to jail following her fourth DUI.
At one point during the interview, Cohen shared the “biggest revelation” of the conversation with the OG cast member.
"I think you talking about the denial you were in is perhaps the biggest revelation that I'm feeling from you," he told Huger. "I think that that's a very big deal that you say you were in denial. Because you seemed like you were in denial, with all due respect."
Huger agreed with Cohen’s assessment, replying "I was. A year and a half, I've been working on that. So, I sort of forgive Karen. I really am at a place where I just love her now, you know? I'm embracing her and I'm excited to see where she'll go."
Cohen Got Fans Excited For The Upcoming ‘Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip’

Last month, Cohen officially announced the cast for the spin-off show that will see a full cast of “Housewives” travel to various cities and have a little girl time fun with dozens of other “Housewives” past and present to celebrate the franchise's 20th anniversary.
The full cast includes: Kyle Richards, Porsha Williams, Teresa Giudice, Lisa Barlow, Luann de Lesseps, and Gizelle Bryant.
However, the big news is that “Real Housewives of Atlanta” fan favorite and icon NeNe Leakes will make her long-awaited return to the franchise after a five-year absence.
“She’s gonna be making an appearance,” he said, per Us Weekly. “When we go to Atlanta, she’s going [to] be there. People are happy about it. We are going to be celebrating 20 years of Housewives, and it would be hard without her. I’m happy about it.”
