Singer Ray J has sparked strong reactions among social media users after revealing he allegedly has just months to live.

Ray J appeared in a recent video and told his followers, "2027 is definitely a wrap for me," following a medical scare in January 2026.

Ray J, known for his hit R&B singles and television appearances, took to social media to share a grim update.

According to an earlier report from The Blast, Ray J explained in the video that he was so sick that he could die.

Ray J admitted that years of drinking alcohol and partying had an impact on his heart, stating it's only working at 25% capacity.

The singer went further, sharing that he'd sometimes consume multiple bottles of alcohol a night, which he said turned his heart "black."

Ray J revealed that he planned to travel to Haiti to address his health issues despite the dangers present there, such as gang violence, sexual violence, and kidnapping, per United News Nation.

Ray J gave the public another update after dropping his initial news, sharing that doctors were doing everything in their power to help the singer extend his life beyond the months he claimed were left.

Speaking with TMZ, Ray J said that he was taking a variety of medications from Lipitor to Entresto, which, according to the publication, are for individuals with a higher risk of heart failure.

Ray J's health issues could cause the singer to need medical devices such as a pacemaker or defibrillator.

The "Sexy Can I" singer has also been told to stay away from alcohol and to stop smoking.

Ray J's video was shared on different online platforms, sparking a range of opinions from social media users.

On Instagram, one user theorized that Ray J was "high" when he shared the news, calling him "diabolical." Another user argued Ray J's video was a "cry out for help."

A third social media user slammed Ray J for mentioning traveling to Haiti to seek healing.

"Please stop using my country’s name as a punchline for nonsense. This has gone beyond unacceptable. You have the resources to seek real healing, consult a holistic doctor, cleanse yourself properly, and reconnect with God," they said.

On Reddit, users voiced similar reactions, with one asking whether the father of two's confession was a "sympathy ploy since he was arrested on Thanksgiving, I think for threatening his kids' mom with a gun?"

One user showed genuine concern for the singer, asking, "How much was he abusing?" They added, "It takes a lot of alcohol, like top-tier, to affect your heart."

Ray's health scare comes at a somber time for the performer, as he was taken into custody during the 2025 holiday season after a reported altercation with his estranged wife, Princess Love.

According to a previous report from The Blast, Ray was livestreaming at the time of the reported altercation and appeared to grab a handgun from a table during a heated argument. The already chaotic moment escalated when Ray was heard screaming at someone off-camera for "trespassing."

Later in the video, Princess Love could be heard accusing Ray of pointing a firearm at her, which likely prompted a call to local police around 4 AM.

A few weeks later, Ray was back in the headlines after posting an Instagram video calling out Beyoncéand Jay Z for allegedly attending his sister Brandy's "Boy Is Mine Tour" and ignoring her backstage.

The video sparked many opinions, including those of ESPN analyst Stephen A. Smith, who criticized Ray J for making his grievances with The Carters public.

"What you caught up in your feelings for to the point where you have to broadcast it to the world?" Smith asked. "Why? There are worse things to happen to us than not have pictures taken with somebody."
