In a new interview, Cohen said that while the "Biggest Loser" star appeared on the show only once, Michaels allegedly did one thing that got the TV personality heated.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Michaels previously appeared on "WWHL" in February 2013 and joked with "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" alum Brandi Glanville and took a shot of alcohol from Cohen's famous "shotski."

Despite the on-screen camaraderie, Cohen admitted that Michaels appeared to be having the opposite experience. "She was furious. I should watch it back, if I cared," he said. "I don't see what she was upset about."

Elaborating, Cohen claimed Michaels allegedly screamed at his "WWHL" staff following the episode. "She left, and she was screaming at my staff. And if you scream at my staff, that's kind of it for me," he said.

Cohen has had his share of problematic guests on "Watch What Happens Live" before.

Cohen previously recounted a difficult on-air exchange with "Vanderpump Rules" alum Lala Kent and James Kennedy, noting their inappropriate language.

Cohen said he was disappointed with how the show concluded because he was excited to have the pair on; however, their demeanor in the studio derailed the show.

"They didn’t stop cursing, and I was really irritated. The viewers hated it," Cohen said. "They were cursing so much, whoever our censor is, they’re very liberal, and every time you say a curse word, they block out the sentence before, the sentence after, so it’s like the whole episode was on mute. And it was very irritating. And it just left a really bad taste in my mouth."

There have also been times when Cohen became frustrated with himself during his late-night talk show.

According to Bravo's Daily Dish, the father of two previously admitted to having regrets about how he handled Oprah's guest appearance.

"This was a huge moment for me and for the show," he said. "I'm such a fan of Oprah."

The big moment, however, was marred, according to Cohen, who reportedly asked Oprah whether she'd ever "taken a dip in the lady pond."

Cohen said that he regrets the moment because it dampened what would've been a fantastic live show.

According to The Blast, Michaels faced scrutiny in August 2025 when Netflix released a documentary, "Fit for TV: The Reality of the Biggest Loser," which argued that the popular weight-loss competition show might've been more problematic than helpful.

In the episodes, former contestants also alleged that Michaels provided contestants with caffeine pills to help them lose a large amount of weight while filming the show, something producers said in the docuseries wasn't allowed on set.

Michaels rebutted the claims, however, saying caffeine was allowed on the set of "Biggest Loser" and that the show's doctor approved of such enhancements. She also called out the show's fellow trainer, Bob Harper, saying he was aware that she was providing her team members with caffeine pills.

"Bob Harper not only knew about the caffeine pills, the ‘stackers fat burner’ were actually his suggestion. I wanted to use my brand instead because they were cleaner and had no more than 200mg of caffeine (equivalent to a strong cup of coffee," she said.

Another report from The Blast reveals Michaels was embroiled in a personal dispute with singer Lizzo in 2021 after making comments about the singer's body.

In a previous interview, Michaels questioned why people were "celebrating" Lizzo's body and later said it would be "awesome if she gets diabetes." According to Michaels, as a fan of Lizzo, she only wants to focus on the singer's music, not her body.

After receiving criticism from the public over her statements, Michaels attempted to clarify her stance and separate herself from her earlier comments.

"I’ve never once actually brought her up; she has been brought up to me," she said. "I would like to separate her from the issue, if at all possible. And I should have done that the first time I was asked. I should have said, 'Let's separate an individual from a conversation about health.' And that is where I genuinely went wrong."
