Jennette McCurdy Recalls Losing Her Virginity To Older 'Red Flags' Guy As A Teen

Jennette McCurdy has some pretty wild confessions about her past!

The Nickelodeon star dissected a very uncomfortable scenario in her dating life where she found herself romantically dealing with someone significantly outside her age bracket.

Jennette McCurdy broke into the limelight on Nickelodeon when she starred in the hit series "iCarly."

The actress revealed to Alex Cooper on the "Call Her Daddy" podcast that a relationship she got into with a 30-year-old while she was barely 18 inspired her new novel "Half His Age." McCurdy's book was based on the life of a 17-year-old, Waldo, who was romantically entangled with her teacher, Mr. Korgy.

She expressed that they fostered a relationship on one of the sets where she worked. According to her, "All I did was work," she revealed. "I think I was 18 by the time he started working on the show. I think. I'm not sure about that. It's possible I was younger, but I was most likely 18."

She recalled them staying behind on set while everyone was gone and would bond over his favorite movie and music before things advanced to him coming over to her apartment.

The star revealed that she had been living away from her mother for a while, and one day, he came over drunk to her home with beer stains all over his shirt, which was really "red flags all over" looking back.

McCurdy continued that they ended up making out a lot of times after she explained to him that she did not want sex before marriage due to her affiliation with her Mormon roots.

The TV star recalled always getting weird vibes from wives of the man's pals whenever they met, and in hindsight, she concluded it was because they knew he was doing the wrong thing.

McCurdy noted that her lack of interest in men within her age bracket further gave the older guy leverage, and despite being in a relationship at the time, he still pursued her. She also addressed the fact that he would get her to satisfy his fantasies because she was not ready for sex at the time.

Despite her mother being really sick at the time, McCurdy shared that she would lie her way out of their apartment just to spend time with her then boyfriend in a hotel room.On one of their hotel visits, she revealed that he asked her for oral sex, a request that really confused her. According to her:

"I don't know what that is because I was raised Mormon and because I was homeschooled. He explains to me what it is, and I'm like, 'That sounds kind of weird. I'm nervous to do this.' He's like, 'I'll guide you through it.'"

She described it as a rough point of entry into any real form of sexual activity because she felt the constant pressure to be what his previous girlfriend was, even though she was absolutely lacking in experience.

"There were phrases like, 'I have to know that my needs are going to be met. This is something that — I'm a mid-30s man — and this is something that I'm used to, and this is something I have to know," McCurdy added.

The author is quite the open book when it comes to her life, and in 2023, she revisited a scary moment where she almost became a mom. The Blast reported that McCurdy revealed on her podcast that she was on acne medication from a dermatologist, which required her to take frequent blood tests.

She added that she was ordered to adhere to several guidelines about the medication, one of which was for her never to get pregnant while using the drug and always go in for bloodwork every month.

Then, on a faithful day, when she called to reschedule her dermatologist appointment, she got a very upsetting call about the possibility of a pregnancy due to the result of the test. The news instantly brought her to her knees, and she dashed to the dermatologist's office, where things got better.

It was finally confirmed that it was a false negative due to fluctuation in hormone levels caused by the medication. She took a second test to confirm and noted that she left the office with a vital lesson, which was to stop the medication for her sanity.

The media personality has, however, left space for the possibility of her mind changing about parenthood a few years down the line. As stated by The Blast, McCurdy emphasized that her current form wants nothing to do with a child in any way.

The author also admitted that despite her firm resolve, she has seen herself change a lot throughout the journey of her life, and the last thing she wants to deal with is the regret of not making provision for her future self to get pregnant.

McCurdy noted that her decision to freeze her eggs is motivated by not wanting to live a regretful life. However, learning about the process of extracting and freezing the eggs has left her horrified, according to her:

"I'm hearing my body is going to look and feel like I'm pregnant. I am going to have difficulties and emotionality, mood swings, and hormonal changes twenty times that of a regular period," the star expressed. Still, McCurdy admitted that she is trying to weigh her options, and it is still complex. In her words:

"I was feeling confronted with aging and who I am now versus who I might be someday and how much I don't know about my future self. I was just confronted with all these life realities that, frankly, I didn't feel prepared for - and I still don't."

As she ushered in the new year, the 33-year-old released the contents of an email she shared with her team, asking to be left out of the office proceedings for the new year. 

"Wish I could keep my out of office reply for all of 2024. Unfortunately, I can't. Happy 2024," the star wrote in her plea for continued relaxation and detachment.

The statement did not end there; she also added, "I am out of the office for the month of December to escape from all of you. Please leave me alone. If your message is urgent, please still leave me alone." 

McCurdy also left her assistant's number in the email for anyone wanting to contact her but blurred out the number to prevent unwarranted calls.

That was one tough bill to swallow about Jennette McCurdy, but kudos to her for getting out of it!
