I’m grateful to everyone who supported us throughout the years, and I ask for privacy, grace, and understanding as we navigate this transition with our family," she said.
Her announcement came as a surprise to Bravo fans, however, considering she gave Tucker a special shoutout during her acceptance speech for the ceremony's "Wifetime Achievement Award."

Kandi Burruss And Tucker Are Battling Things Out In Court

According to The Blast, Burruss and Tucker have been hashing the specifics of their divorce out in court, with Tucker requesting primary custody of their two minor children and that their prenuptial agreement be disregarded. In an Instagram post, Burruss got emotional about the state of her marriage, sharing that she had been putting on a brave face for so long while dealing with much stress behind the scenes. "This is what I look like when I'm going through something. I show up for my family, I show up for my friends, I show up to handle my business, [and] I show up with a smile all while on the inside I'm emotionally broken," she captioned the montage of photos and videos of her smiling with friends and family. "I am the poster child for the saying, 'check on your strong friend because you never know what they are going through.'"
Burruss Is Keeping Her Mind Off Of The Negativity With Her New Role On Broadway

One distraction helping Burruss keep her mind off the state of her relationship is her new gig in the Broadway musical "& Juliet." According to Burruss, who first hit the Broadway stage as Mama Morton in "Chicago," her return to New York is "f-cking perfect," adding that focusing on music and performing brings her peace and joy. "This show is so much fun that no matter what's happening, it just takes you out of that space," she said.
In the musical, which is powered by music from the famed producer Max Martin, Burruss sings a Pink song he helped create, "F-ckin Perfect." Burruss explained that the song, which has the lyrics, "Please don't ever feel like you're less than perfect," has been the ideal anthem for her at this moment in her life.
"I'm always in my head, doubting myself — even though I guess it may look to other people like I never have doubts. But people just see the shiny part of the coin, right?" she said. "You don't see the other side where it's kind of dull. It's kind of like, 'Oh my God, I don't know if this is what I'm supposed to be doing?' So I'm really hearing those words now."
