Timothee Chalamet Stuns The Room With A Win And A Love Confession

Timothée Chalamet came out as one of the main winners at the 2026 Critics' Choice Awards, winning Best Actor during a night filled with big movie and television prizes.

Held in Santa Monica, the event featured surprising losses for favorites, many big wins, and strong speeches across various award categories. 

Even though “One Battle After Another” took the Best Picture award, Chalamet’s victory, along with a surprising personal moment on the stage, made sure he stayed the person everyone was talking about.

Chalamet had his crowning moment as he earned Best Actor at the 31st annual Critics' Choice Awards, beating out an elite lineup that included Leonardo DiCaprio, Michael B. Jordan, Ethan Hawke, Joel Edgerton, and Wagner Moura. 

The 30-year-old was visibly emotional as he accepted the honor for his performance in the ping-pong drama “Marty Supreme” at the Santa Monica gala. 

Chalamet admitted to feeling nervous as he stumbled through his speech, carefully recognizing each nominee he competed against.

Despite his personal victory, Chalamet’s movie couldn’t claim the Best Picture award. 

Still, his performance as Marty Mauser, a young man chasing greatness despite widespread doubt, resonated strongly with critics. 

The role required him to portray ambition, vulnerability, and resilience, as his character goes to hell and back in pursuit of greatness, making the win one of the night’s most memorable highlights.

During his acceptance speech, Timothée Chalamet took a moment to spotlight director Josh Safdie for crafting a role that challenged conventions. 

He said, per the Daily Mail, “Thanks for crafting a role and a story.”

“You know, Josh, you made a story about a flawed man with a relatable dream, and you didn’t preach to the audience about what’s right and wrong. I think we should all be telling stories like that. Thank you for this dream,” the actor added.

“Marty Supreme,” produced by A24, entered the night as a strong contender but ultimately lost Best Picture to “One Battle After Another,” a Warner Bros. production. 

The Best Picture field also included “Bugonia,” “Frankenstein,” “Hamnet,” “Jay Kelly, Sentimental Value,” “Sinners,” “Train Dreams,” and “Wicked: For Good.”

Still, Chalamet’s win solidified his performance as one of the year’s most celebrated, even in a fiercely competitive lineup.

One of the night’s most talked-about moments came when Chalamet turned his acceptance speech into a heartfelt love confession. 

Addressing his girlfriend of three years, Kylie Jenner, the movie star said, “Thank you to my partner of three years. Thank you for our foundation. I love you. I couldn’t do this without you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.”

Kylie appeared visibly emotional in the audience, staring at Chalamet as he spoke and mouthing back, “I love you, too.” 

The exchange instantly lit up the room, blending personal vulnerability with professional triumph. 

Timothée Chalamet’s recent gesture comes following rumors of issues between him and Kylie. 

As The Blast reported in November 2025, the actor made headlines after his absence from Kris Jenner’s 70th birthday celebration at Jeff Bezos’s Beverly Hills mansion.

Kylie attended the event in a plunging, backless white gown and appeared lonely. 

With A-list names like Beyoncé, Jay-Z, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry in attendance, fans and media alike wondered why Chalamet was nowhere to be seen, especially since the couple has been together since 2023 

According to sources, his no-show was an indication of problems in their romance. “There is trouble in paradise but they aren’t completely over,” one insider noted.

Another shared, “He is filming quite a bit and she feels like she had to chase him. She is putting in the work more than him.”

Following the buzz around Chalamet missing Kris’s birthday, multiple sources quickly shut down rumors of any breakup. 

According to insiders who spoke to PEOPLE, Kylie and her man were still together, happy, and deeply in love, despite their demanding schedules. 

“They’re great,” one source shared, adding that irrespective of their busy schedules, they make efforts to see each other every few weeks.

The report also revealed that Chalamet frequently spoke about Kylie on set, and that she traveled to visit him during work commitments, including a trip to New York and a reunion in London while he was shooting abroad.
