Jordyn Woods Engagement Announcement Sparks Frenzy Among Celebrity Friends

Jordyn Woods and NBA star Karl-Anthony Towns are getting their happily ever after! In a joint Instagram post, the two A-listers revealed that they were engaged and finally starting their next chapter after five years of dating. In the carousel of pictures, Woods, who rose to fame alongside her best friend, Kylie Jenner, is seen packing on the PDA with her fiancé while showing off her massive new diamond. "Marry Christmas," Woods captioned the post, which has garnered over 1.3 million likes at the time of this publication. The special announcement also caught the attention of several popular celebrities, from WNBA superstars to Olympic gold medalists.

Woods and Towns' recent Instagram post also shows the moment the New York Knicks star got down on one knee and popped the big question to his long-time girlfriend. He is dressed in a white button-up shirt with a striped tie, a brown suede jacket, black pants, and black shoes. Woods donned a flowing, white dress with a matching fur top.

Their engagement follows the pair becoming an official couple in May 2020, as Towns shared in Woods' Instagram series "Regular-Ish." He explained that they first met through mutual friends, and since that moment, their relationship has grown organically. He also noted that the COVID-19 pandemic forced them to decide where their relationship was going "as friends or as something more," adding they "chose the latter."

Woods and Towns aren't the only people excited about the next stage in their love story, as celebrities of all kinds flocked to the comment section of their joint IG post to shower them with love and well-wishes. WNBA star Angel Reese wrote, "Ahhh, congrats, boo," while "Catfish" co-host Kamie Crawford shared, "Congratulations, you two!!!"

Woods' long-time bestie, Kylie Jenner, also jumped into the conversation, simply writing, "jordyyyyyy" followed by a bunch of teary-eyed emojis. Supermodel Bella Hadid's blessings followed Kylie's comment. "OMG!!! Congrats, sweet girl," the 29-year-old shared.

And it didn't stop there. Olympian Suni Lee said, "Omg, congrats, I LOVE YALL," while singer Chloe Bailey added, "Congratulations." Simone Biles wrote, "Congrats baby," and "Love Island USA" star Serena Page posted, "AHH CONGRATS."

Since sharing the exciting news with their social media followers, the well-wishes have continued, and in a new post, Woods expressed her gratitude. Posing on a basketball court in an all-fur look with heels that resemble ice skates, Woods smiled in a slew of new photos while also showing off her surely expensive look. She captioned the carousel, "turned the garden [into] an ice rink." The 28-year-old added, "I'm overwhelmed with all of the kind messages, love you guys!!!!"

In a previous interview with PEOPLE, Woods reflected on her relationship with Towns and shared the two things that helped them progress throughout the years. "Friendship and trust," she said, explaining that the pair were "really good friends" before they took things to the next level. "We've been through a lot together," she added. "We've seen each other at all different ways, times, and phases, so I think we have a very strong foundation."

Later, Towns expressed his appreciation for Woods, noting that the influencer has become a "basketball savant" over the years. "We watch game film with each other, we watch lots of basketball with each other, and we’re dissecting the game," he said, calling her "truly special to me."

Their special bond is always on display, and it was especially clear during Woods' recent appearance on Funny Marco's "Open Thoughts" show. During the episode, Marco stated that Towns intentionally changes the tone of his voice depending on who he's talking to, a running joke that's been documented on social media.

However, Woods, understandably frustrated by the shade, clapped back, defending her man. "I mean, it depends on the time of day, how he feels when he wakes up," she said. "How are you going to tell someone what voice they should have?" she continued before the two changed the topic.
