Stay, Play, Repeat: Enjoy A Staycation Or Vacation At MGM Grand Las Vegas

The Blast had the opportunity to enjoy a one-night staycation in a renovated room and plenty of fun experiences - dinner at Morimoto, Cirque du Soleil's KA, breakfast at Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill, and some photo-worthy fun at The FRIENDS Experience: The One In Vegas.

Who isn't in need of a relaxing and fun staycation during the holiday season (or any time of year, actually)? When the opportunity to spend a night at MGM Grand popped into my life, there was no way I could say no. A girls' night away ahead of Christmas with no stress and no worry was just what I needed, and MGM delivered.

My staycation began with checking into a renovated room in the MGM Tower. Our room overlooked much of the  Strip, with New York-New York being front and center. Originally from New Jersey, that view was so welcomed on Christmas Eve morning, bringing the nostalgia of many years on the east coast.

The room was spacious, modern, and comfortable, and the perfect spot to rest and recharge after a fun evening exploring MGM Grand's many awesome spots.

Our first stop after checking in was Morimoto Las Vegas for dinner. Founded by world-renowned chef Masaharu Morimoto, this restaurant delivers a fusion of traditional Japanese techniques with inventive twists. The upscale atmosphere, expertly crafted cocktails, and impeccable service create an environment and a meal that's more than just memorable. It's a full sensory experience that's perfect for a special night out and is a photo/video worthy stop during your Vegas adventure.

We enjoyed a curated tasting menu that included appetizers, main dishes, and dessert, as well as beverage pairings. A few specialties that we tried - Toro Tartare, Bao Bun Duo, Land & Ocean Rolls, Japanese A5 Wagyu, Roasted Salmon, and a Bento Box of desserts.

The presentation of each course was a mini show in itself. The staff is well-versed in everything that comes out of the kitchen, and they are all more than happy to explain the best way to enjoy each plate and even give some background information on each course.

This meal was like nothing I've ever experienced before, and I now understand why anyone who's ever dined there always raves about it and plans to go back time and time again.

When at MGM Grand, Cirque du Soleil's KA is a must see!

This breathtaking fusion of acrobatics, storytelling, and high-energy moments is something that must be experienced in person to fully understand how amazing it is. The epic production follows the journey of siblings on a quest to fulfill their destinies. The show seamlessly blends martial arts, aerial feats, pyrotechnics, and pure talent on a dynamic stage that moves, tilts, and transforms before your eyes.

And let's not forget about the stunning costumes and action-packed moments all around. The show will have you looking on stage, above your heads, and to all sides of the showroom.

I've experienced multiple Cirque du Soleil shows in Vegas and they never, ever disappoint no matter how many times you see them.

After resting and recharging in our room for the night, we enjoyed a delicious breakfast at Wolfgang Puck's Bar & Grill. The menu is filled with delicious options of egg dishes, French toast, fruit, and so much more.

I had one of the most popular breakfast dishes - Old School Breakfast - two eggs, applewood bacon, rosemary potatoes, and ciabatta toast, with some added avocado on the side. We also shared a fruit plate that was filled with exotic fruits to get the morning started right. And no breakfast is complete without a delicious cup of coffee. I had a simple iced coffee that hit the spot and got the day started with a little surge of energy. They even sent me on my way with more in a to-go cup.

With super friendly waitstaff ready to go above and beyond so you'll have a great experience, this was such a wonderful way to start the morning.

If you are a fan of the iconic sitcom, "Friends," visiting The FRIENDS Experience: The One In Vegas is an absolute must.

Step inside the world of "FRIENDS" like never before. This immersive attraction can be found in MGM Grand's District and offers an experience like never before. Visit with iconic life-size recreations of memorable sets - from the girls' and the guys' apartments to Central Perk, the famous fountain and orange couch. Each different scene puts you right into the show where you can take fun photos that help you relive the show all over again.

Learn more about the show in a fun and exciting way, see memorabilia up close, and get into the action of moving the couch while screaming "PIVOT," sit on the well-known orange couch like the friends' group did, say "cheers" while holding a coffee mug at Central Perk and even play some guitar while you're there. And exclusive to the Vegas location, the wedding chapel inspired by Ross and Rachel's spontaneous wedding, creates extra special laughs.

An entire day and night can be filled with fun at MGM Grand. In addition to the experiences I had during my staycation, there are also many other restaurants to enjoy, including Netflix Bites, Nellie's Southern Kitchen, MGM Grand Buffet, Hakkasan Restaurant, Luchini Italian Restaurant, Tom Colicchio's Craftsteak and many others, as well as a food court for when a quick bite on the run is necessary. There are also other shows and experiences to fill your day as well - Jabbawockeez, David Copperfield, nightclubs, comedy shows, and more.
