Once a familiar face on Nickelodeon, Tylor Chase is now at the center of a very different kind of spotlight.
After a viral video revealed he was living on the streets, a former costar stepped in during the holidays to offer help.
What followed was an emotional reunion, renewed hope, and a complicated path forward.

The update that changed everything came quietly but powerfully.
Chase, 36, checked into a hotel room during Christmas week after reconnecting with Daniel Curtis Lee, his former costar from "Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide."
The two actors, who hadn’t seen each other in years, shared an emotional reunion captured in a clip obtained by Daily Mail, including a hug that underscored the weight of the moment.
Lee didn’t just offer a bed for the night. In an Instagram reel posted Monday, he detailed how he tracked Chase down, spent time talking with him, and tried to stabilize what had become an increasingly fragile situation.
One of the most meaningful moments, Lee explained, was helping Chase reconnect with family. He said he got Chase on the phone with his father, a call that visibly lifted his spirits.
“Love is all we can we can really give people some time, and I'm happy that he was able to have that connection with his pops,” Lee said.
A Closer Look At Chase’s Current Situation

Chase’s circumstances came to light after a viral video showed the former child actor unhoused in Riverside, California.
Authorities later confirmed that while they have interacted with him regularly, many questions remain unanswered. Riverside Police Department Public Information Officer Ryan Railsback told the Daily Mail, “We do not know how long he has been experiencing homelessness.”
Railsback added context to those encounters, saying, “During all of our interactions, he has been cordial and cooperative with our officers.”
According to the department, officers from the Public Safety Engagement Team have remained in contact, offering resources and assistance whenever possible.
Railsback explained that they “contact him at least once a week and consistently offer a variety of resources, including assistance with temporary shelter options.”
Despite those efforts, Chase has largely declined the help being offered. Railsback previously told TMZ that Chase has consistently refused shelter placements, substance abuse treatment, and mental health services.
Authorities also clarified that family outreach has not been part of their involvement. “Regarding family, I am not aware of any attempts by officers to contact relatives on his behalf,” Railsback told the Daily Mail.
How A Former Costar Is Trying To Help Tylor Chase Long Term

Daniel Curtis Lee has been careful about how he offers support, especially after speaking directly with Chase’s mother.
According to Lee, she warned that giving Chase cash “might be dangerous,” a concern he said he took seriously as he tried to navigate the situation responsibly.
Lee said he wanted to “respect her wishes” while still finding meaningful ways to help.
Beyond the immediate hotel stay, Lee has been thinking about longer-term solutions.
He suggested that if anyone online was familiar with establishing a trust “that's contingent upon someone completing like a rehab or some type of process,” it could become a structured path forward.
Lee also shared that Chase appeared open to discussing his future. He said Chase “seemed super-receptive ... to conversation” and even noted that he “had a little little prayer going on at one point.”
The moment left a strong impression on him. “I really believe we can get Tylor back on his feet and you know I'm super feeling it right now with the holiday season,” Lee said. “He's on my heart often, on my mind often.”
Law Enforcement And Outreach Efforts Continue In Riverside

While Daniel Curtis Lee and others work independently to help, the Riverside Police Department continues its outreach-focused approach.
On its website, the department states that its Community Engagement Division “strives to address emerging crimed trends, maintain safe school campuses, create safe parks and neighborhoods, reduce retail crime and develop working partnerships with all of our Riverside communities.”
That philosophy has guided their interactions with Tylor Chase, though officials have acknowledged the limits of what they can do without his consent.

As news of Chase’s situation spread, another former child star stepped forward.
Shaun Weiss, known for his role in "The Mighty Ducks" films and for his own past struggles with homelessness, offered help through his friend, businessman Jake Harris. Weiss made it clear that Harris was doing the heavy lifting behind the scenes.
“Well, we were working on it and really Jake's the one doing all the hard work,” Weiss told the Daily Mail.
He added, “I just made a video and Jake's been out there literally combing the streets last night for him - and he finally found him and made contact with him.”
Weiss explained that their first attempt to secure a hotel didn’t work because Harris prioritized building trust.
“We tried to get him into a hotel last night and it didn't work because really what happened was Jake had established a conversation with him and was working on establishing a rapport,” he said.
According to Weiss, those conversations were promising. He said, “Tyler seemed to be very receptive to getting treatment and to the idea of going into a detox.”
Harris later shared on Instagram that he connected Chase with multiple former costars who “explained their love for him” and encouraged him to seek help.
“He's now in contact with all the right people to get him to help he needs,” Harris said. “He has a hotel room tonight to give him time to make the decision on his own.”
Daniel Curtis Lee echoed that sentiment in the comments, writing, “Thanks for getting the ball rolling for his treatment Jake.”
For now, Chase’s future remains uncertain, but for the first time in a while, he is not facing it entirely alone.
