Long before a deadly family tragedy shocked Los Angeles, law enforcement records reveal repeated calls to the home of filmmaker Rob Reiner and his wife Michele.

Those visits, now resurfacing, paint a troubling backdrop to a case that continues to raise unsettling questions.

According to records obtained by the Daily Mail, police were dispatched to the Reiners’ $13.5 million Brentwood mansion at least six times over more than a decade.

The calls span from 2013 through December 14, the same day Rob and Michele Reiner were found dead inside their Los Angeles home.

The incidents ranged widely, including alleged family violence, welfare checks, and mental health evaluations.

A source close to the Los Angeles Police Department described the frequency as unusual for the area, stating, “There's been quite a few calls for service at the Reiner house,” before adding, “The West LA division of LAPD was summoned to that home on many occasions.”

In a neighborhood known for privacy and calm, repeated law enforcement visits stood out.

The police logs reveal a timeline that suggests ongoing concerns rather than isolated events.

One of the most serious entries occurred on May 5, 2017, at 4:04 p.m., when officers responded to a call coded “BFV INVEST,” indicating a battery of family violence investigation.

While details of that incident remain limited, its presence in the records underscores that authorities had been alerted to potential domestic issues years before the fatal outcome.

In 2019 alone, officers were called to the property twice. On February 25 at 9:51 p.m., police conducted a welfare check and reported the incident to a supervisor.

Later that year, on September 27 at 4:24 p.m., another call was categorized as “918M,” a mental health-related check involving a male subject. After responding, officers determined that no further police action was required.

Earlier records show additional welfare checks, including one logged on August 4, 2013, at 3:31 a.m.

An officer filed a report simply labeled “door,” offering little public insight but confirming police presence.

Even seemingly minor disturbances made the list, such as a February 2, 2014, noise complaint described as a “party,” which was resolved after officers noted it was “gone on arrival.”

Brentwood is not known for frequent emergency responses, making the volume of calls to the Reiner residence particularly notable.

Reflecting on the pattern, the LAPD source emphasized, “Brentwood is a fairly quiet neighborhood. You don't generally get a lot of calls for service at a home.”

The source continued, “In this case, the officers had a recollection that they responded to the home on numerous occasions,” adding, “It was significant, the number of times they visited that home.”

At the center of the case is Nick Reiner, the couple’s 32-year-old son, who had reportedly been living in the guest house on and off for years.

Sources close to the family say his presence at the property was consistent during many of the periods when police were called, suggesting long-running challenges within the household.

The gravity of the case deepened when the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner's Office released death certificates for Rob and Michele Reiner.

The documents confirmed that both bodies were cremated following what authorities described as brutal killings.

Officials had previously stated the couple suffered “multiple sharp force injuries,” and the certificates further clarified that the injuries were caused “with a knife, by another.”

Both deaths were formally ruled homicides, with the place of death listed as their residence.

According to the New York Post, the remains were released to the couple’s oldest son, Jake, and cremation took place at Mount Sinai Mortuary.

Nick Reiner was arrested on December 14 and charged with two counts of first-degree murder in the killings of his dad, Rob Reiner, and mom, Michele.

Prosecutors allege he used a knife in the attack, a detail that aligns with the medical examiner’s findings.
