Heather Dubrow Has No Time For The Claims That Her Husband, Terry Dubrow, Is Gay

Speaking with Terry on the "Between Us" show, Heather, who joined the Bravo family during season 7 of "RHOC" in 2012, wasted no time shutting down the rumors that the "Botched" reality star is gay. "It's just so stupid," she said before questioning why she or her husband would hide such a critical part of his identity if it were true. "Why would we live a lie like that? It would be the most hypocritical, and what would we be showing our kids?"

Terry also got in on the action, stating that his podcast listeners should feel terribly for him if he were really gay because then he wouldn't be "living my true life." He continued, "I’m having a life of dissatisfaction."

According to Terry, if he were gay, he would not want to live the rest of his life hiding his true identity. Instead, he said he would be "really happy about it." However, he noted that the thing he would enjoy most about living his life with another man is the significant change to his finances. "By the way, I would be a lot wealthier because I would have married a guy who was very, very successful right away, and we don’t spend money the way women spend money," he said.

In a previous interview, Heather slammed the "obnoxious" rumors swirling about her marriage to Terry, whom she wed in 1999. "Why is it always that he’s cheating? Why can’t I be cheating? I am cute, I could cheat. Why is it not me?" she wondered. "It’s so obnoxious and it’s insulting," she added, admitting the pair usually laughs the rumors off before going on about their days.

Before clearing the air on the allegations, Terry made headlines after opening up about his deep admiration for "The Real Housewives of New Jersey" star Joe Gorga.

He shared on an earlier episode of "Between Us" that he had forgotten how "weirdly attracted" he is to the muscled-up reality star, calling him the "coolest dude ever."

Heather joked then that the Bravo fandom would revive the rumors about his sexuality, adding, "I don't think anyone says Joe Gorga is gay."

Terry replied, suggesting he was more than OK with the speculation. He even admitted he would be happy to be "gay with [RHOC star Eddie Judge], and I would be gay with Joe Gorga, too."

One reason Heather and Terry are likely so open regarding sexuality is that three of their four children are part of the LGBTQ+ community, according to BravoTV. During Pride Month in 2024, Heather called her kids' coming-out stories a "beautiful thing," even though she was raised by parents who were more traditional in their thinking.

The reality star recalled thinking at a young age that, should she ever have a family, she would do her best to raise them differently. "If I were lucky enough to have a family, I would be the opposite of that. And so I have to say I’m proud of them, I’m proud of me, I’m proud of us as a family for having the communication that we have," she said.

A year prior to her statements, Heather got candid about her son, Ace, coming out as transgender in 2023. In an emotional Instagram post on National Sons Day, the "RHOC" star wrote about her commitment to loving and supporting her child through thick and thin.

"Our job as parents is to give our kids a safe and supportive environment so they can grow up as healthy, happy, confident, independent humans," she said. "Since Ace is a 12-year-old child, with a long life ahead of him — we will let him tell his own story someday if he chooses to do so. All we can say is Ace, we love you so much and we are proud to be your parents. Your brother and sisters love and support you too."
