Rob Reiner’s Son's A-List Encounter At Christmas Party Before Double Homicide Revealed

Rob Reiner's son, Nick Reiner, was reportedly quite the curious cat at his last outing with his parents.

The screenwriter reportedly engaged a few celebrities in very brief conversations after his parents dragged him along to Conan O' Brien's star studded end of the year party.

Rob Reiner's son, Nick Reiner, has now been slammed with two counts of first-degree murder after he reportedly stabbed the director and his wife, Michele Reiner, at their Los Angeles home.

The 32-year-old reportedly proceeded to ask Bill Hader a few strange questions after his father had introduced them to each other at the event. Reiner had asked the actor, "What's your name? What's your last name? Are you famous?" at the Christmas party.

Hader allegedly replied to Nick that he was currently engaged in a private conversation and would not have the time to entertain his adventure. He reportedly did not stop there, as he asked a few more celebrities similar questions before he was eventually asked to leave the premises. 

Sources claimed Nick was not on the guest list and had used his parents' influence to enter the venue. On Rob and Michele's part, they reportedly felt it was a great idea to bring their troubled son along and not leave him alone in their guest house due to the growing concern about his extreme behavior.

As shared by The Hollywood Reporter, Nick's conduct throughout the night was erratic, and he kept interrupting conversations before he eventually stormed out of the space.

As the celebration went on at Conan's Pacific Palisades home, which narrowly survived the devastating Californian wildfires, things got heated up between Rob and his son.

As soon as Nick got turned down by Hader, shouts seemingly erupted between him and his director father, causing all attention to fall on them.

Eyewitnesses claimed the argument was about Nick's unsettling behavior at the party, and minutes later, the director and his wife, filled with regret and apologies to Brien, left the party.

By 4 a.m. on Sunday, Nick reportedly checked into the Pierside Santa Monica, where the staff later stumbled on a shower filled with blood and bedsheets hanging over the window.

Hours later on Sunday afternoon, the waves of horror ran through Los Angeles as Rob and Michele were pronounced dead from knife wounds. Their daughter, Romy, had reportedly made this gory discovery during a quick trip to her parents' estate.

Nick, residing in the couple's home, was reportedly placed there in a bid to offer close supervision due to his declining mental health. As noted by The Blast, several sources confirmed that the late couple had serious concerns for their son's health and expressed their fear to their close circle.

The 32-year-old is reportedly battling substance abuse, and the downward slope has not stopped yet. Michele had allegedly told a few of her close friends that Rob and the whole family feel lost on what else to do to help their son.

The couple reportedly shared that they have tried everything, but the solution seems farther away. Rob and Michele's death comes after over three decades together as a married couple with three adult children, Jake, Nick, and Romy.

New surveillance footage from a gas station near the Reiners' home in Brentwood showed their son taking a brisk walk in the area. He was shown walking away from the direction of the late couple's home right before the clock hit midnight on Saturday.

The Blast shared that he appeared really casual in a jeans and long-sleeved shirt combo as he carried a backpack on his left shoulder. Nick has since been picked up on Monday for the death of Rob and Michele.

Details from Los Angeles District Attorney Nathan Hochman confirmed that special allegations of multiple murders and special allegations that Nick personally used a deadly weapon were part of his charges.

Hochman noted that the 32-year-old could go away for life without the possibility of parole, should he be convicted, or at worst be given the death penalty. Either way, the District Attorney admitted that the case remains a highly sensitive and emotional one due to the intricacies involved.

The director, in an old interview, held space for his son during their joint appearance on the "2 Chairs and A Microphone" podcast. Nick had discussed that his famous background usually removes empathy from the conversation whenever he tells his story.

He noted that people could not see past the privileged white kid narrative as he shared his struggles. Rob then added that he sees things from Nick's angle because he also knows what it feels like to have people assume certain things about them.

While Rob successfully blocked out the noise and did not see drugs as a cure to his battles, Nick seemingly struggled to find balance. He defended his son further, saying that since it is his first time being famous, it is normal for him to fail at plenty of things due to the unhealthy attention around him.
