Cheryl Hines Recounts Emotional Start Of 31-Year Bond With Rob Reiner And His Wife

Cheryl Hines is keeping the late Michele and Rob Reiner very close to her heart!

The actress has publicly reacted to the devastating news of the couple's death by taking a trip down the memory lane of their first meeting to the impact they left on her life.

Michele and Rob Reiner were found lifeless in their Brentwood home on Sunday, as authorities claimed the death came from a stabbing incident.

"The loss of Rob Reiner and Michele Singer Reiner is devastating. I met them 31 years ago when I began working for them as an assistant and instantly loved their generosity, humor, and unwavering inspiration," Cheryl explained in the caption.

The actress uploaded a picture of herself alongside the filmmaker and his producer wife one day ago on her Instagram feed. Cheryl was all smiles in the image as Rob pulled her in for a warm side hug while Michele smiled in solidarity.

In the caption, Cheryl reiterated that the legacy of Rob and Michele continues to live on in the countless lives they touched and the countless ways they made the world brighter. The actress concluded her post by affirming that the loving picture of the three of them is the snapshot that forever stays with her.

Cheryl's bond with Rob and his family did not go unnoticed by her fans and followers, who trooped to the comment section to show support and concern. 

"I immediately thought of you. I'm so sorry. So tragic," podcast host Heather McDonald stated. Rachael Harris also followed up with another comment, describing the picture as "incredibly sad."

One more commenter revealed that while they disagreed politically, his loss was devastating as he was "truly a creative genius." A fourth follower sent their wishes that the memories Cheryl carried would bring her healing.

"After watching what he said about the murder of Charlie Kirk, I gained true respect and affection for Rob Reiner," this Instagram user emphasized.

Sources close to the incident revealed that they were found by their daughter, Romy, upon her visit to their Rob and Michele's Los Angeles residence. Following this discovery, The Blast shared that the Los Angeles Fire Department dispatched officials to the home to provide medical aid.

Responders reportedly found a 78-year-old man and a 68-year-old woman dead, and they were later confirmed to be the filmmaker and his wife. In the wake of this incident, several theories have emerged, including claims that their son, Nick Reiner, wreaked the havoc.

Law enforcement is reportedly currently questioning Nick, who has been public about his struggle with addiction for decades now.

Rob and Nick attended Conan O'Brien's Christmas party on Saturday night, where things descended into a nasty argument between the father and son. The Blast reported that the actor and his son were seen engaging in a shouting match over an undisclosed situation.

Sources close to the situation affirmed that the argument was loud enough for people in their immediate environment to hear their voices. Following the argument, Rob reportedly left the venue with his wife, while Nick headed somewhere unknown after the fight.

Before the argument and the cold-blooded murder, in which Nick reportedly played a role, an insider confirmed that Rob and Michele had tried every means possible to offer help to Nick following his addiction.

Michele has specifically confided in friends for months now about how she and Rob were at a crossroads on what to do about their son's dire situation.

The long-time friend of the late couple, actress Maria Shriver, described Trump's remarks about Rob and Michele's death as a very insensitive thing to do.

The politician had reportedly tied the passing of the couple to their disapproval of his administration, noting that he was "known to have driven people crazy by his raging obsession with President Donald J. Trump."

Maria stressed that everyone should be absolutely repulsed by the president's comments as they showed his lack of human decency. She insisted that Rob and Maria were really good people whose death left their family in deep pain and anguish.
