Rob Reiner's Striking Remarks About Charlie Kirk's Death Go Viral Hours After He And His Wife Were Murdered

Rob Reiner was one of the top voices who spoke out about the horrifying nature of Charlie Kirk's assassination in September.

Now, after his own demise in a suspected homicide last Sunday, his words have gone viral and have further endeared netizens to him. Some claimed that the late actor, who was found dead alongside his wife, Michele, deserved the same respect he had shown toward Charlie.

Police are currently investigating the killings, as tributes pour in for Rob Reiner and his wife, Michele Singer Reiner.

Days after Charlie's death in September, Reiner had appeared on Piers Morgan's "Uncensored," where he gave an emotional speech about how horrifying the right influencer's death was.

Those touching words have now reemerged on the internet in the wake of Reiner being found dead alongside his wife in their Los Angeles home last Sunday

Netizens who saw the clip of Reiner's comments felt he showed Charlie much respect and deserved the same.

Some were further endeared to the actor because of his words as they mourned his tragic demise.

"It reinforces my appreciation for Rob Reiner all the more. I think he had a good heart, overall," one netizen noted.

During his interview with Morgan, Reiner had labeled Charlie's tragic demise as an "absolute horror."

"I unfortunately saw the video of it," Reiner said further of Charlie's assassination. "It's beyond belief what happened to him."

He also stated that what happened to the former TPUSA CEO "should never happen to anybody" regardless of their political leanings.

"I don't care what your political beliefs are. That's not acceptable. That's not a solution, so solving problems," the late actor noted, per the HuffPost.

He went on to touch on the comments made by Charlie's wife, Erika Kirk, during his memorial service, describing her decision to forgive her husband's killer as admirable.

"And I felt like what his wife [Erika] said at the service at the memorial they had was exactly right," Reiner shared. "I'm Jewish, but I believe in the teachings of Jesus, and I believe in 'do unto others,' and I believe in forgiveness, and what she said to me was beautiful. She forgave his assassin. And I think that is admirable."

On Sunday, Reiner and his wife were found dead in their home in the 200 block of Chadbourne Avenue, Brentwood, Los Angeles.

The Los Angeles Fire Department found the couple dead after responding to a medical aid request at the location.

Both Reiner and his wife suffered stab wounds, and their death are now being investigated as an apparent homicide.

At the time the deaths became known, officials claimed that a family member was being questioned about the incident.

Multiple sources later claimed that the couple was killed by their son, Nick, 32. However, the reports have not been confirmed by the authorities.

What is known for now is that the investigation into the couple's death is ongoing, as announced in a news conference late Sunday by LAPD Deputy Chief Alan Hamilton.

"At this time, the Los Angeles Police Department is not seeking anyone as a suspect or as a person of interest ... and we will not be doing that until we conduct our investigation and move forward," Hamilton also stated at the time, per theLos Angeles Times.

Hamilton further revealed that his officers will question many family members, but "no one has been detained; no one is being questioned as a suspect."

Sources recently disclosed to People Magazine that Reiner and his wife's bodies were discovered by their daughter, Romy, at their Los Angeles home.

Calls about the tragedy were made to the L.A. Fire Department at around 3:30 pm on Sunday.

The couple's son, Nick, who is currently the suspect of his parents' murders, has previously spoken about his struggles with drug addiction and subsequently, homelessness.

He also once revealed that his personal struggles were the inspiration for the semi-autobiographical film, "Being Charlie," which he co-wrote and was directed by his now late father.
