Shannon Sharpe addressed the salacious allegations being made against former University of Michigan head coach Sherrone Moore during a recent episode of his podcast, "Nightcap." The Super Bowl champion spoke with his co-hosts, NFL star Chad Johnson and NBA All-Star Joe Johnson, about the claims and offered a different perspective, largely because Sharpe dealt with a similar situation earlier this year when a 22-year-old woman sued the retired NFL player for millions, claiming he sexually assaulted and physically abused her.
Shannon Sharpe Sounds Off On Sherrone Moore's Personal Woes
On the most recent episode of "Nightcap," Sharpe got candid about the allegations of Moore engaging in a sexual relationship with a Michigan staffer. "I think the thing is that all the situations that you've heard, you never think a situation like this can happen to you, even though you're doing what you've heard about," he said.
Continuing, Sharpe likened himself to Moore, referencing his lengthy legal battles with a Jane Doe who leveled horrifying allegations against him in a shocking lawsuit. "'Nah, this going to be different. She ain't like that. It ain't going to happen. It ain't gonna get out. Don't nobody know but her and I.' ... And I can imagine six, seven months ago, I went through something very similar," Sharpe said. "So I can know what that storm is like."

According to a report from ESPN, Moore was fired from the University of Michigan on Wednesday for cause after the institution found "credible evidence" he was involved in an "inappropriate relationship with a staff member." The school's athletic director, Warde Manuel, further commented that Moore's alleged "conduct" violates policy.
Since his firing was made public, a whirlwind of events has transpired, culminating in Moore's arrest and placement in police custody. A spokesperson from the Pittsfield Police Department shared Wednesday that they responded at 4:10 PM to a residence on Saline Road "for the purposes of investigating an alleged assault." The statement continued, "A suspect in this case was taken into custody."
Moore remains in police custody, and on December 11, the Washtenaw County Prosecutor's Office shared an update on his case. "The matter involving Mr. Moore remains under active investigation by law enforcement, and as a result, we do not expect charging decisions or an arraignment today," the statement read.

On his podcast, Sharpe shared that a person can't truly understand what people like himself or Moore have gone through unless they've experienced it for themselves. "Until you in that pressure cooker. Until you in the eye of the storm," he said. "Everything that you worked your entire life for, you feel like it's crumbling right before your eyes. And the only people that's going to be there, it's going to be a select few. That's the hardest part."
While Sharpe didn't dig into all of the details about Moore's arrest, he did express even more sadness about the latest developments. "And then the other reports that came out that he was arrested and things that some things escalated," he said. "Think about Samson and Delilah, David and Bathsheba. ... I don't hate anybody, but there's a few people I really have a strong disliking for. I wouldn't wish what I went through on them."
