The current conservator of Britney Spears is asking the court to approve 24/7 security after she began receiving death threats following the explosive testimony of the pop star.

According to legal documents, obtained by The Blast, Jodi Montgomery says because the previous conservatorship hearing was "illegally" broadcast online to a massive audience, she has been the victim of an increased number of "threatened violence" and even death threats.

In the filing, Jodi claims she referred all the threats to Britney's security team, who has recommended she be provided 24/7 security "to protect her from harm" until she can make certain security improvements to her home and office. The problem is, at this point, she is personally responsible for the costs, and Jamie Spears (who is in charge of Britney's estate) says the court needs to approve it before they shell out the money.

Interestingly, Jodi reveals in the filing that although Britney is very displeased with the current state of her conservatorship, the pop star texted her and asked that she stay on as conservator. As you know, Spears lashed out against the case in general, saying she is being kept from marrying her boyfriend and having more children. As we reported, Jodi claims she had nothing to do with each of these situations and put the blame squarely on her father, Jamie Spears.

Shockingly, the conservator included a screenshot of the text messages between her and Britney Spears to prove she has been asked to stay on board by the pop star herself. On the phone, you will see the pop star is listed as "Jane Doe."

At this point, Montgomery is taking the necessary steps to help her own security, including contacting the local sheriff's department to add a patrol to her home. But, the security will come at a "significant extra personal expense" and she is asking that the money be paid by Britney's estate.

In the documents, Jodi is asking that the court grant the request on an emergency basis, saying it is "in Ms. Spears' best interest if those around her are not placed in any danger." Adding, "There are grave concerns regarding the safety of (Jodi) and counsel involved in this highly-publicized matter arising from a drastic increase of threats of violence and death since the June 23, 2021, unsealed status hearing."

As for what type of threats, the legal filing claims the severity of the threatening posts is elevating on all "social media platforms" as well as "text messages, phone calls, and emails" directed at Jodi Montogmery personally.

In the documents, no specific threat is included, and it's unclear if the assessment of the situation has yielded any arrests or identified the culprits in the matter.

The cost of 24/7 security is over $25,000 for 14 days, which appears to be updated on a week-to-week basis.
