Fans Divided Over Kate Winslet's Disdain For Weight Loss Drugs And Plastic Surgery

Kate Winslet has ignited a firestorm on social media after sharing her candid thoughts on her Hollywood peers using weight loss drugs like Ozempic. During an interview, the "Titanic" actress didn't hold back when speaking about how stunned she was to learn that many of her industry peers have turned to plastic surgery and other methods to look like altered versions of themselves. Winslet was quite honest during a recent interview about the rise in plastic surgery and Ozempic use, telling a UK publication that she found it to be quite "terrifying." Continuing, Winslet explained how "devastating" it is for a person's "self-esteem" to be wrapped up in how they look.

"And it's puzzling because I have moments when I think it's better, when I look at actresses at events dressed how they want, whichever shape — but then so many people are on weight-loss drugs. It's so varied," she said.

Winslet is correct about the increase in celebrities and public figures who have spoken openly about using Ozempic to achieve their fitness goals. However, she questioned whether many of them truly understood the decision they were making and how it could impact their bodies long-term.

"Do they know what they are putting in?" she asked. "The disregard for one's health is terrifying. It bothers me now more than ever. It is f--king chaos out there."

As she went on, Winslet, 50, stated that she's OK with the aging process. "My favorite thing is when your hands get old," she said. "That's life, in your hands. Some of the most beautiful women I know are over 70, and what upsets me is that young women have no concept of what being beautiful actually is."

Users have been reacting to Winslet's comments since her interview went viral, with some expressing their disappointment in the actress for seemingly doing what she's criticizing others for.
