Elizabeth Holmes is marking Thanksgiving behind bars but still finding reasons to smile, thanks to a visit from her husband, Billy Evans, and their two children.

Just last week, the 41-year-old appeared upbeat as she welcomed her loved ones during another visit to the holding facility.

Elizabeth Holmes' path to prison began when Theranos' blood-testing technology was revealed in 2018 to be faulty, leading to her 11-year sentence handed down at the end of 2022.

The family was spotted sitting together in the yard of the Federal Prison Camp Bryan in Texas, talking quietly while the kids wandered nearby. This created a scene that looked more like a casual park outing than a prison visit.

Holmes did not stay still for long. She picked up her son, William, twirling him around in a playful moment. Later, she cradled her daughter, Invicta, murmuring to her with a soft expression and a wide grin that revealed how much she cherished the brief time with her children.

The visit was not all conversation and kids' play. Holmes squeezed in a bit of exercise, too. TMZ noted that she grabbed a pair of dumbbells and fit in a quick round of curls before the afternoon came to an end.

The Entrepreneur Previously Hung Out With Family Behind Prison Walls

Holmes continues to receive steady support from her husband and children, who have made frequent trips to see her since she began serving her sentence.

The Blast reported that the family had already spent time together the week before Thanksgiving, enjoying a calm moment on the grass inside the Texas facility.

TMZ noted that Holmes and Evans looked comfortable as they watched their kids play, with a film crew stationed in a white van outside the fenced area capturing material for an upcoming project.

Holmes, dressed in her standard prison attire with her hair loosely tied up and glasses perched on her face, appeared at ease as she interacted with her children.

Evans kept things simple in jeans and a dark top while keeping an eye on the kids. At one point, he observed Holmes adjusting their daughter's clothing.

The Former Businesswoman Earned Time Off Her Sentence

Holmes still faces several more years in federal custody, but her release is now set for 2032, a shorter timeline than she initially expected. As reported by The Blast, the Theranos founder received a sentence reduction in 2023 after maintaining strong conduct during her time behind bars.

The adjustment to her sentence surfaced when NBC News spotted an updated entry on the Bureau of Prisons website, showing a new release date of December 29, 2032, trimming roughly two years off her previous end date.

A spokesperson for the Federal Bureau of Prisons acknowledged the update but declined to elaborate, citing "privacy, safety, and security reasons." They explained that inmates can earn time off through good behavior or other approved programs.

What The Stanford Dropout Said About Motherhood Rumors

Before recent heart-warming moments with her two children, The Blast highlights that the former tech executive challenged claims that she used pregnancy as a strategy to soften her sentence.

Holmes said the timing of her pregnancies was not part of any legal maneuver. In her own words, "I always wanted to be a mother. I wanted to have children, be a mom." She recalled repeatedly hearing from her legal team that a conviction was unlikely, so she continued building the family she wanted.

For her, motherhood happened naturally, even if the circumstances made it look otherwise. "It wasn't planned, and I can't worry about what others think. It's just when the timing happened," she added.

Elizabeth Holmes' Husband Pleaded With The Court Using Their Children

Speculation around Holmes' pregnancies grew as her criminal case stretched on through multiple postponements.

The trial was pushed back several times during the 2020 pandemic and then again when she became pregnant with her first child, giving critics fuel to suggest she was stalling the process.

As the legal battle intensified, her partner stepped up in hopes of softening the outcome. Evans sent an emotional letter to the judge, sharing how the prosecution had reshaped their family life and pleading for leniency to keep Holmes present for their children's milestones. He wrote:

"For a future in which my son grows up with a relationship with his mother on the other side of glass, armed by guards. The gravity of time without her is hard for me to comprehend."
