Food Network's Guy Fieri Remanded In Wheelchair After Reportedly Exploding His Quads

Guy Fieri's quads are not in the best shape right now!

The celebrity chef suffered a very nasty fall during filming for his new series, and now he has to watch all the festivities of Thanksgiving from a wheelchair.

Guy Fieri is currently in the middle of a three-year deal with Food Network as he continues his impressive run as one of the highest-paid celebrity chefs on air.

The TV personality detailed that while he was on set for "Flavor Town Food Fight," he missed a few steps, leading to one foot sliding forward while the other got stuck on the threshold. According to him, the pose extended out his limb, and he had to assume a forced split position.

The effect of the fall caused a severe tear in his quad muscles, which were located at the front of his thigh. "You normally tear that muscle at your tendon or the tendon tears off the bone, but this was right in the center of the whole quad muscle, and it exploded," the media personality added.

Fieri explained that his doctor was shocked by the level of his injury and confessed to having never seen a tear of such magnitude in his years of practice. Right now, the star is on crutches and in a wheelchair as he recovers from the emergency surgery for the injured thigh.

As reported by PEOPLE, the food guru added that he would have to avoid putting weight on the area for eight weeks, after which he heads in for physical therapy to help him heal as fast as possible.

Fieri shared that his injury also affected the set arrangement because they now had to alter some techniques to make space for his condition while production continued. Most importantly, the chef revealed that his injury also means his sons and nephew will handle all the cooking business for Thanksgiving.

He recalled his son texting him about his plans to finally utilize all the training he received from the chef over the years, alongside those he has garnered on the way, and make Fieri very proud.

Ryder will reportedly be joining his brother, Hunter, and nephew, Jules, in the kitchen to slug it out over the cooker. As expected, Fieri is looking forward to the experience as he stated:

"They all know how to cook. And now it's gonna be me quarterbacking from the wheelchair and telling them what to do. And we cook for about 40 people up here. So it's going to be, it's got to be an adventure."

Guy Fieri Has Experienced Some Very Low Moments In His Life

Beneath the fame and glitz of his successful career, the 57-year-old has experienced a few challenges in his personal life. The Takeout shared that he almost lost his life in a horse riding accident when he was 10 years old, and he had to undergo surgery to address his internal injuries.

Years later, as a college student in the 80s, he found himself involved in a car accident scandal where he was accused of driving while drunk. He eventually got exonerated of all the criminal allegations, forcing him to make significant adjustments in his life.

He also suffered a personal loss when his sister died due to cancer in 2011, and the aftermath was an intense custody battle involving her only child. He eventually won the battle against his late sister's baby daddy and became the legal guardian of his nephew, Jules.

Fieri also lost his beloved father to pancreatic cancer in 2024, 7 years after his father was diagnosed in 2017. In addition to the death of his loved ones, the TV personality also fell out with his business partner Steve Gruber, and the partnership ended with a series of trips to the courtroom.

His famous feud with Anthony Bourdain was also another hurdle he had to cross in his career, alongside a car theft in 2011 when a 16-year-old Max Wade snuck into a dealership and made away with his yellow 2008 Lamborghini Gallardo.

Fieri's resolve to take his fans' taste buds on a wild ride intensified when he expanded his line of flavors, which debuted in 2024 with eight new sauces, six new rubs, and six new seasonings. As stated by The Blast, he began his journey into the world of flavors last year with nine exquisite flavor ranges.

The flavor profile included Famous Donkey Sauce, Top Secret Sauce, Poppin' Jalapeno Sauce, Honey Mustard Sauce, Kickin' Chipotle Sauce, Money Honey BBQ Sauce, Carolina BBQ Sauce, Mop Sauce BBQ Sauce, and Smokin' Hickory BBQ Sauce.

In his words to The Blast, Fieri boasted about his vast knowledge in the sauce business and how he has earned the badge of the "Boss of the Sauce" at his restaurants. He stressed the importance of infusing "seasonings, dry rubs, sauces" in "people's cooking repertoire."

He praised his partners at the Litehouse for keying into his vision and delivering results with such drive and dedication, which has not been seen before.

The media personality began his journey with the Food Network in 2006 when he won "The Next Food Network Star." The Blast reported that his journey from then has seen him expand his reach across 80 restaurants around the world.

When it was time for the network to offer him a deal in 2023, it was a no-brainer, thanks to his incredible talent, as acknowledged by Warner Bros. Discovery US Networks chairman and CEO Kathleen Finch.

The contract was reportedly valued at $100 million with multiple shows like "Guy Off the Hook," "Guy & Hunter's European Vacation," "Guy Fieri's Road Show," "Guy's Family Road Trip," and "Guy's Ranch Kitchen" under his radar.

Speaking on the deal, the food guru described the network as his home and an organization that understands the power of food as a universal language that is able to unite people across race, color, and language.
