Jason Kelce Reveals He's On A 48-Hour Fast After Gaining Weight Eating 'Egg Rolls' At Disney

NFL star Jason Kelce is looking forward to the Thanksgiving holiday, especially because he'll be wrapping up his 48-hour fast just in time for the special day.

According to the former Philadelphia Eagles player, he went on a fast with a buddy after noticing he'd gained a few pounds following a family trip to Disney.

Jason Kelce has been open about his goal of shedding several pounds now that he's retired from the NFL, and his latest vacation might've set him back a bit.

On his "New Heights" podcast, which he shares with his brother, Travis Kelce, Jason opened up about the ongoing 48-hour fast that he's doing with another retired football player.

"Marcus Spears and I agreed to do a fast," Jason told his brother. "This is what happens when you retire. You f-cking do stupid s—t like this, and I agreed to do it. It's over tomorrow morning. I'm not gonna do it for Thanksgiving. I'm gonna eat my face off on Thanksgiving."

According to Jason, the idea for his current fast came to him after realizing he may have overindulged in unhealthy foods while on a vacation to Disney World.

Jason told his brother, who happens to be a current Kansas City Chiefs star, that he was feeling "bad about myself" because he ate tons of egg rolls "and a bunch of other things that probably aren't the best with Dole Whip."

Additionally, Jason revealed he had another hearty meal in Wisconsin, where he "shoved prime rib and ice cream" down his throat.

Consequently, Jason noticed the scale going up. "So, yeah, we're going on a fast. I'm about thirty-six hours in. Just the smell of food," he said.

Jason's ongoing fast piqued Travis' interest, who questioned whether his current plan was healthy.

"I think if you don't eat food for long enough, it becomes unhealthy. But, apparently, if you do it for the right amount, it's healthy. I don't know," Jason said.

Travis eventually admitted that Jason and Spears would likely have an "awesome" Thanksgiving holiday, stating, "You'll be f-cking starving."

Jason clearly agreed, telling Travis that his intense hunger might lead him to eat a "whole Turkey by myself."

It's not the first time Jason has been candid about his weight-loss journey.

In June 2024, the former NFL player spoke with GQ about his plans to drop a few pounds since he was no longer competing at such a high level.

"I weighed 295 for the majority of my NFL career, and I look forward to losing some of those pounds," he said before revealing he'd lost nearly 20 pounds. "I'm about 277. I'm almost 20 pounds down right now."

As Jason continued, the Super Bowl champion admitted he couldn't see another 20 pounds coming off him; however, if they did, he wouldn't complain.

"... being honest with you. But my back already feels better," he shared. "My knees already feel better. So another 20 pounds hopefully will make that much more adept at playing with my children."

According to an earlier report from The Blast, social media users have noticed Jason's weight loss and ongoing body transformation.

In August 2025, many netizens flooded his Instagram account with thirsty comments after he uploaded an image of his bulging biceps.

"Jason, I'm a lesbian, I can't do this right now," one user wrote, while another wrote, "Hottest man alive."

Another fan chimed in with, "I'm so sorry, Kylie [Kelce], I swear I only looked for a second."

Before Jason's picture went viral, his wife, Kylie, revealed she wasn't a big fan of people lusting after her husband online.

"I'm [going to] need you to sit down, put your tongues back in your mouth and be respectful," she said. "That man is a father to my children, and also agreed."

She didn't stop there, though, eventually telling some users to back off from Jason's "thirst traps."

"That's mine," she said. "So, Imma need you to get your drool comments out of there, specifically."
