Paltrow and Martin's daughter, Apple, reminded fans of her A-list lineage on Sunday when she shared a striking beach photo on Instagram.

The 21-year-old aspiring musician posed in a bold red bikini, her blonde hair falling over her face as she stared into the camera, a look some noted could easily be mistaken for her famous mother's past looks and photographs.

The photo swiftly drew admiration from her 45,000 followers, with a person writing, "My gorgeous and beautiful blue-eyed friend," while another said, "Stunningly beautiful."

Someone else noted that Apple looked more like her singer dad in the post, commenting, "You look like your dad in this photo."

Apple Martin Was Criticized Over Her Singing

Apple's snap came after she faced heavy criticism for her foray into music.

Last month, she appeared at a surprise show at Cannery Hall in Nashville, performing alongside the duo Jade Street.

However, once clips of the performance hit social media, commenters accused her of benefiting from celebrity parents rather than talent, with some comparing her vocals to "drunken karaoke."

TikTok users were particularly harsh, leaving comments like "Nepotism has killed art," "This is a nepotism baby I don't support," and "Apparently she didn't inherit her dad's talent."

As the conversation grew louder online, claims of nepotism only added fuel to the fire.

Some critics argued that Apple's rising platform had more to do with her parents' fame than her own artistic merit. Despite the backlash, a source told Star Magazine that Paltrow, 53, has been urging Apple to tune out the negativity and stay focused on her goals.

"She's telling Apple not to let this derail her," the insider shared. "She understands it's hard to block out the haters, but as far as she's concerned, the only way to handle this is to get back on stage as soon as possible."

Although Apple is described as "sensitive," Paltrow is still pushing her to stick with it. "She's telling her she needs to get a thicker skin," the source added. "She knows her daughter and says she knows what's best for her."

Away from the spotlight, Apple is currently studying Law, History, and Society at Vanderbilt University. Alongside her academic pursuits, she's been exploring performance through the campus's cabaret-style theater group, the Vanderbilt Original Cast.

In an Interview Magazine profile earlier this year, she described the group as "an esteemed cabaret theater organization" and revealed that this semester's show is a comedic musical spoof of "Love Island" titled "Love on an Island." She said she loved the experience, calling it "phenomenal."

Apple explained that her naturally deep voice often lands her in the lower harmonies, usually alongside the male singers. "Whenever we're doing harmonies, it'll be like, 'Alright, it's the boys and Apple," she joked. Despite being modest about her skills, she said she's thrilled to be performing her favorite song this semester: "I'm definitely not the best in the org, but I love it," she said.

Apple also spoke candidly about her unconventional childhood in a recent interview with The Daily Telegraph, given while promoting her role as brand ambassador for Self-Portrait.

She acknowledged the privilege that came with growing up as the daughter of two global stars, and said she tries to stay grounded by appreciating the opportunities she's been given.

"I constantly remind myself how grateful I am to have these opportunities," Apple told the news outlet. "I know this is not a normal way to grow up by any means. But my parents did a really good job of instilling in me that I shouldn't be entitled to anything. I have to work."

Standing 5-foot-10, the rising style star shared that when she's off-duty, she loves casual "guitar playing sessions" and bingeing reality TV with friends.

Apple also credits much of her fashion inspiration to her mother's iconic wardrobe.

"I was always excited to see what she was going to wear to go out in or to an event," she said. "To this day, I am constantly going on Pinterest to look at old photos of her on the red carpet from the 1990s."

Apple admitted that she often raids Paltrow's preserved wardrobe. "She kept a lot of stuff. Not all of it fits me, but the stuff that does I always steal," she said. "I recently stole a Prada bowling bag – it's the perfect travel bag because it can fit so much in it."
