Meghan King's Custody Loss Alleged Reason Revealed

Meghan King's custody drama continues with new information.

The former reality TV star reportedly administered an unprescribed medicine to one of her kids, forcing the child protection services to intervene and commence an investigation.

Meghan King welcomed her three kids with her former husband, Jim Edmonds, after they tied the knot in 2014.

The TV personality temporarily lost custody of her three children to her estranged husband, Edmonds, following her decision to give one of her twin sons unprescribed medication. 

She reportedly asked the school nurse to administer the medicine, which was confirmed to be Ritalin, despite the lack of an official ADHD diagnosis. Once she asked that her son be given the medication, the teacher duly informed the appropriate authorities, who took it up till this stage.

As confirmed by TMZ, King will now get to see her children twice a week under a supervised visitation process. A custody hearing to determine if it will become a permanent custody loss will reportedly be deliberated upon by early December.

Just a few months ago, The Blast shared that the reality TV personality got into trouble during a drop-off at Edmond's home, where she reportedly attempted to barge in. She had gone to drop off a dress for her daughter and called her to come to receive it, but the door slammed shut in her face.

Following this incident, King reportedly attempted to leave the environment but was reportedly blocked by several police cars, which responded to the residence based on Edmond's wife's request.

Edmond's wife had accused the reality star of constantly ringing the doorbell and wanted to see her daughter, who was not at home at that moment. This prompted Edmond's wife to request a restraining order against King for attempting to force her way into her house.

However, King disputed the claims and accused her estranged husband's wife of using her resources to bully and harass her.

The love story between the former couple turned sour in 2021, and since then, several issues have arisen, including friction over child support payments.

Two years ago, the reality star publicly accused Edmonds of failing to follow the guidelines when it comes to payment of child support, and only does so when it is convenient for him.

She revealed this during a back-and-forth with a fan about the fact that her marriage to a Biden landed her on the bad pages of Edmonds.

Recall that the reality star married President Joe Biden's nephew, Cuffe Biden Owens, in October 2021 after five weeks of dating, and it ended in an annulment nearly a year later in June 2022.

Despite this tense relationship between King and Edmond, she revealed in 2023 that her children remain her number one priority.

Former "Real Housewives of Orange County" star, Kelly Dodd, weighed in on King's ongoing custody challenge, emphasizing that she is an excellent mother while expressing hope that she regains her kids' custody.

As reported by The Daily Mail, Dodd claimed that despite their differences and fights on the show, she has seen firsthand just how much of a good mother the model is to her kids. 

"She stayed at my house, I took care of her when she got her boob and her nose done, and I can tell you: she loves those babies, she loves those kids, and I know for a fact she's a good mother. She is an excellent mother," Dodd added.

She emphasized in her video that praying for King to get back her kids must be prioritized at the moment, as they need their mother to be stable and be a happy family. King and Edmond got married in 2014, and she filed for divorce five years later, with the process being finalized in 2021.

PEOPLE reported that, fresh off the divorce filing and in the middle of quarantine, the Bravo TV alum opened up about celebrating Mother's Day alone with her children. In her words:

"I wasn't looking forward to this Mother's Day. Quarantined with 3 screaming toddlers for 9 weeks while trying to work hasn't exactly been a prime environment for me to feel like I'm earning any mother-of-the-year awards."

She described that having to not step out of the house killed their spirits and crushed their souls. The former reality star confessed that she had always thought she would get to raise her kids in a two-parent household, but life had other plans.

The star expressed her regret for not giving her children a life she felt they deserved, which was the joy of a nuclear family. Despite the low moments, she has chosen to cast her gaze forward and lift herself in solidarity with other moms in her shoes.
