Meghan King Defeated in Custody Battle With Ex-Husband Jim Edmonds After Children's School Intervened

More drama has unfolded in Meghan King’s life, as she will no longer have physical custody of her children going forward. 

The American TV personality was removed as physical custodian of her three children following an investigation. In the meantime, her ex-husband, Jim Edmonds, will be in charge of them.

King and Edmonds were married for five years, from October 2014 to October 2019, and they finally settled their divorce in May 2021. 

A recent investigation launched by Child Protective Services resulted in the decision to remove King’s three children from her custody. As confirmed by US Weekly, the investigation began after a school employee called Child Protective Services about the reality TV star. 

For now, King will be allowed to visit her children, albeit under supervision. Going forward, her ex-husband, Jim Edmonds, will have sole custody of their three children, Aspen, Hart, and Hayes. 

The removal of King’s children from her custody is temporary, as a court has agreed to hold a hearing to determine if the “RHOC” star will lose custody permanently. The hearing is scheduled for early next month; however, more details are yet to be revealed. 

When King and Edmonds parted ways and finalized their divorce in 2021, they settled on sharing joint custody of their children. However, the custody arrangements may be changed permanently following the outcome of the hearing in December. 

News of King and Edmonds' new custody arrangements comes over two months after the former allegedly barged into the latter’s house during drop-off. 

She allegedly went to drop a dress off for her daughter and called out to her from the doorway. However, the door was slammed in her face. She reportedly then attempted to leave the premises but was blocked by several police cars. 

Meanwhile, Edmonds' wife alleged that King had persistently rung the doorbell and insisted on seeing her daughter when she was not around. 

According to The Blast, Edmonds' new wife requested a restraining order against King, and the reality TV personality didn’t want to be involved in any lengthy legal drama, so she obliged. 

The court documents obtained confirmed that King has also been ordered to keep her ex-husband’s name out of her social media posts. 

Although Edmonds' wife, Kortnie, remained firm in her claims that King forced her way into her house, King denied all wrongdoing. She alleged that Kortnie had exaggerated the situation and insisted that she had done nothing wrong. 

During a conversation with a law enforcement agent, King also claimed that her ex-husband had been “incredibly emotionally abusive” towards her. She also alleged that he used his resources to bully and harass her. 

According to The Blast, the TV star further claimed that she would soon gain full custody of her children. However, a rep for her ex-husband refuted those claims. 

Following their contentious split in 2021, King and the former baseball player have been at each other's throats over the custody arrangement of their three kids.

In August 2023, the reality star publicly accused Edmonds of only paying child support when it was convenient for him. 

She clapped back at a social media critic who attempted to troll her for her financial decisions, arguing that her ex-lover was not consistent in his child support duties, as The Blast reported.

The critic wrote, “Well, you married a Biden and lost support from Edmonds; that was a bad financial decision."

King then replied, “Huh? Not only are you so ridiculously wrong (I don't get alimony, my children only receive child support when their father decides he wants to pay), you need to take many millions of seats. Ever heard the saying, ‘Stay in your lane?’"

King and Edmonds' custody battle has raged on for years since their separation. However, she has always made it clear that her children will continue to remain her priority. 

In 2023, she opened up to an interviewer on the red carpet of the iHeartRadio Music Awards, saying, “I'm just continuing to be the best mom I can. So to me, nothing will change or has changed. I'm just focused on my children; they're always my number one priority, and they always will be. That's all there is to it,” per The Blast.
