Former NBA star Patrick Beverley is facing fresh pushback from fans after horrifying details from his arrest in November 2025 were released to the public. According to legal reports, Beverley was taken into custody after being called to his mother's house, where his minor sister shared frightening details with law enforcement officers.
Patrick Beverley Allegedly Punched Minor Sister In The Face

As previously reported by The Blast, Beverley was arrested in Texas on felony assault charges.
Court documents reveal the 6'2" point guard was charged with assault, impeding breath or circulation, and family violence.
Beverley later posted $40,000 bond and was released from custody.
Patrick Beverley Is Accused Of Strangling His Sister

A report from USA Today details more of Beverley's arrest, stating the basketball player was called to his mother's home to address his teenage sister and her 18-year-old boyfriend after she reportedly snuck out.
"[Beverley's sister] stated Beverley grabbed her by her neck with both hands, and picked her up off the ground, by having her feet come up from the floor," the report states.
However, the horrifying allegations don't end there. "[Beverley's Sister] stated that Patrick Beverley squeezed her neck, causing her to feel pain. [She] felt as she was losing oxygen and not able to breathe," it further stated.
Making matters worse, the report also claims Beverley laid his younger sister on the couch, stood over her, and punched her once in the left eye before making a "statement to her during the assault, to the extent that he will be the family relative to kill her."
Patrick Beverley's Lawyer Speaks Out, Denying Claims Against Him
But he lied. He tried to get ahead of it and the real story came out. His sister admitted that she snuck out of the house to go see her lil boyfriend at the park. But if he told that part, he’d have to admit that he and their mom made that boy come to the house..

Law enforcement officers revealed in court documents that they observed visible neck marks and "petechiae," burst blood vessels, in the whites of her eyes. Officers noted the younger sister's markings were consistent with strangulation.
Beverley's lawyer, Letitia Quinones-Hollins, issued a statement acknowledging the "negative details" while staunchly defending the Arkansas alum.
"... remember that it is only one side of the story," the statement said. "As I’ve said before, we don’t believe that the description in that affidavit is accurate, nor is it complete. Patrick is not a violent man and was not violent that night."
She added, "In fact, he was very respectful with the authorities that night and encouraged others to do the same. He is the provider and protector of his family, including his little sister and his mom."

Social media users shared strong reactions to Beverley's arrest and the new details that emerged, expressing genuine concern for the athlete's younger sister while condemning his alleged actions.
"The details in the Patrick Beverley story are so nasty," one user wrote before another called out the NBA star's mother.
"Patrick Beverley’s mom needs to be arrested for child endangerment, and DCF needs to get involved. She allowed her grown a-s [redacted] a-s to be violent [with] his teen sister… shut it all down," they posted.
"Pat Bev and his mother are diabolical. They told his sister to call her boyfriend back to the house so they could create a narrative where the boy was intruding and the daughter was being sneaky," another user wrote.

Of course, this isn't the first time Beverley has had his name dragged through the headlines for something negative.
As previously reported by The Blast, the Illinois native rubbed some people the wrong way in 2024 when he was captured throwing a basketball at a fan during an intense playoff contest.
Following that, Beverley faced even more criticism after kicking an ESPN reporter out of the media circle for not being subscribed to his podcast.
"We're better than that. Pat feels awful about that. He also understands emotionally, this is an emotional game and things happen -- unfortunately, you're judged immediately, and he let the emotions get the better of him," Milwaukee Bucks head coach Doc Rivers shared.
It's unclear what comes next in Beverley's ongoing legal case; however, before additional details were released, he urged his followers on X, formerly Twitter, to disregard the news until it's settled behind the scenes.
"Please don't believe everything you see on the internet," he wrote. "Hope all is well. Luv."
