Kelsey Grammer's Daughter Reveals Family Estrangement To Debunk Nepo Baby Claims

Kelsey Grammer's daughter, GreerGrammer, is not willing to let the nepobaby tag stick!

The actor's daughter is telling those who care to listen that she built her career on her own by trashing the nepo baby claims and insisting that it took a while before her famous father became a part of her world.

Kelsey Grammer reportedly became estranged from his daughter, Greer, following his separation from her mother and stylist, Barrie Buckner, shortly after her birth. The actor has seven other children, ranging from ages 42 to less than a year.

The 33-year-old explained that she is far from being a nepo baby after she spent a chunk of her childhood separated from her father. The media personality has a rich resume, from competing in pageants and clinching roles on MTV and Netflix's show, which explained that they had nothing to do with Kelsey.

"The biggest misconception about me, and I never know how to talk about it except to just trauma dump, is that I didn't know my dad until I was 16," Greer noted on the "Pretty Basic" podcast.

She explained that the actor left when she was four, and they did not meet again till 12 years later. While they briefly met on the set of a blockbuster when she was 11 years old, the meeting was short-lived when she bolted off the set.

They finally ran into each other at 16 at a Christmas tree lot, where he introduced himself to her, and Greer responded with a very familiar tone, and that was the beginning of the change in their relationship.

While they did not establish a solid connection till her mid-teens, the media personality did remember going out with the actor at a point in her life before he disappeared for a while. 

Kelsey was also present during her preschool production of the "Wizard of Oz," which they have repeated over and over. "Those are all very specific. I can see them when I think about them, but after that, I don't know," she added.

These days, the star is busy with healing and detaching herself from the emotional effects of their separation via therapy. She recalled her therapist asking very pertinent questions about when she knew her dad was absent in the picture, and even if her mom ever discussed it with her.

"And I was like, "I don't think so." She was like, "You should ask her about that." I was like, "No. I think my brain's probably blocking it out for a reason," the actress concluded.

PEOPLE reported that the prolific actor recently welcomed a son with his wife, Kayte Walsh, in October. This new addition makes Kelsey a proud dad to eight kids after he first became a dad in 1983.

He shared his daughter, Spencer Grammer, with his first wife, Doreen Alderman, and then welcomed Greer in 1992, after which he married dancer Leigh-Anne Csuhany months later.

The marriage survived for just a year before he moved on with actress Camille Grammer in 1997, and they shared two kids, Mason and Jude, until their divorce in 2010, after which he married Walsh in 2011.

Grammer currently shares four kids with Walsh, and fatherhood has remained a source of joy to the actor, according to his admission in a 2022 interview. He described his kids as a considerable part of his life, and raising them has been the "greatest experience in the world."

In 2019, The Blast shared that the actor made candid revelations about his marriage to the former reality star and what went wrong between them.

He revealed that she did the saddest thing of threatening to divorce him on the day of his mother's funeral. He noted during the interview that Camille spent a significant portion of her time smearing him, and he sees it as a pathetic display.

Grammer added that he knew the marriage was done when Camille would not stop bringing their problems up during his mother's burial, and this is an issue they have dealt with for about eight years.

The actor also did a brief comparison between his ex and his current wife, stating that Walsh came into their marriage with a little more perspective, wisdom, and personality.

The estranged duo ironed out their nasty custody battle in 2019 by making some crucial decisions, including agreeing to split their son's tuition for a boarding school on the East Coast. 

In a The Blast story, Grammer and his estranged wife would pay about $32,000 each towards the tuition, while the actor also sorts out the costs of books, counseling, uniforms, and other school expenses.

The former couple filed for divorce from the actor in 2010, and the former Bravo star reportedly walked away from the process with a whopping $30,000 settlement.

Camille has also moved on romantically and is currently married to David C. Meyer. The duo tied the knot at a private beach club in Hawaii in 2018, surrounded by their loved ones.
