"Home Improvement" star Zachery Ty Bryan is facing fresh legal trouble these days, as shocking court documents claiming he assaulted his then-girlfriend have been released to the public. Of course, the allegations against the '90s actor aren't the first of their kind, as Bryan was arrested and charged with various assault charges in October 2020 and July 2023.
Zachery Ty Bryan Allegedly Assaulted His Girlfriend In The Summer Of 2025

According to a report from TMZ, Bryan allegedly assaulted his then-girlfriend in the summer of 2025, punching and threatening to kill her during an explosive argument.
Court documents detail the specific allegations, which state the "Home Improvement" star allegedly punched his partner in July after she reportedly "bit his nipple" while they were lying down together.
A few days later, the unnamed woman reportedly told law enforcement officers that she was in fear for her safety when she and Bryan allegedly got into a verbal altercation, during which he's been accused of telling her to "shut the f-ck up or I'm gonna shut you up."
Zachery Ty Bryan Ordered To Stay 100 Yards From Victim For The Next Five Years

The horrifying allegations don't stop there, though. During the pair's alleged verbal altercation, the woman told law enforcement officers that Bryan not only snatched their dog and locked himself in a separate room, but he also allegedly punched the door so hard that it split from its frame.
Bryan's alleged victim, whom he reportedly dated for three months, also accused him of spraying their dog in the face with bleach during another incident in June 2025.
According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Bryan has been ordered to stay 100 yards away from his ex-girlfriend for five years or until September 29, 2030.
Zachery Ty Bryan Has Faced Accusations Like This Before

Bryan has had several run-ins with the law since his time on the ABC sitcom starring Tim Allen concluded.
According to Fox News, the actor was previously arrested in 2020 and entered a guilty plea after allegedly trying to strangle his then-girlfriend, Johnnie Faye Cartwright, at her apartment in Oregon.
Bryan faced charges of "menacing – constituting domestic violence and assault in the fourth degree – constituting domestic violence."
During his guilty plea, the actor reportedly dismissed the seriousness of the accusations against him, and in a separate interview, said the situation had been "blown out of proportion."
"We didn't even really get that physical. We got really loud. We were screaming, and because we were in a townhome that had [thin walls], everybody could hear," he said. "Johnnie was, at the time, just really upset about my situation."
Bryan Was Arrested And Charged With Driving Under The Influence

And Bryan's legal woes don't conclude there, considering he was arrested in Oklahoma on driving under the influence charges, according to Fox News.
Police reportedly found Bryan asleep at the wheel of his Range Rover on the side of the road during the early morning hours in October 2024. The officer parked his patrol vehicle down the road from Bryan and later initiated a traffic stop once Bryan's vehicle passed him.
Bryan was apologetic while in the officer's patrol vehicle and admitted that he's a big fan of alcohol. "I'm just a good dude, man, I don't know why everybody— I'm sorry, I like to drink," he said.
Months before that, Bryan was arrested again in California and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, as well as a misdemeanor contempt of court charge after officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle they suspected had been in a "recent traffic collision."
Bryan's Royalties Were Seized

In March 2025, the troubled actor was dealt another blow after a court ruled his royalties from various on-screen appearances could be seized for a total of $108,000 to pay off debt he owed a business partner.
Court documents obtained by InTouch revealed Bryan entered into an agreement with a man named Cameron Moore, who agreed to contribute $60,000 to Bryan and his production company for a movie project.
Moore was to be repaid $60,000, plus an additional $12,000 in interest and a share of the film's profits.
Despite fulfilling his duties, Moore never received the promised funds, leading to a lawsuit in which he claimed he suffered economic damages.
The court ruled in his favor, allowing him to seize all royalties owed to Bryan until the six-figure debt was paid in full.
