Abigail Breslin is holding back when it comes to how she feels about Britney Spears' conservatorship, calling it a "disgusting situation," and comparing it with the release of Bill Cosby.
The 'Little Miss Sunshine' star took to Instagram blasting the outcome of Britney's stunning testimony, saying the fact that Britney is still in one and denied release from the conservatorship is a huge problem.
"The fact that Britney Spears was denied getting out of her conservatorship is one of the most appalling, heartbreaking and disgusting situations I’ve ever heard of. What the hell?" the actress wrote on IG. Obviously, Abigail is well aware of the issues with growing up in Hollywood and being a child star. She has been making millions of dollars since a young age, and her finances and many personal decisions are forced to be run through her parents.
'Little Miss Sunshine' Star Compares Situation To Bill Cosby
But, Abigail is clear, the injustice of Britney's situation is even worse after you compare it in the same legal system which just freed Bill Cosby. "Meanwhile, Bill Cosby is out of prison after being convicted of drugging and raping his victims. So... yeah," Breslin added.
Several of Abigail's fans agreed with the actress with one follower saying, "We live in such a hypocritical corrupt society at least these days things finally are being exposed to where we can do some right and fix these injustices!" Another added, "The fact Bill Cosby walks free and she doesn't say enough what's wrong justice these days. It’s insane that this is happening to her. She needs to have her attorney request a new judge. I realize it’s up to the judge on if she wants to let the case go, but they need to try."
Britney Spears Shocks The World With Heartbreaking Testimony
As we reported, Britney Spears shocked the world after testifying she is being held in the conservatorship and isn't allowed to have children or get married. The pop star went as far as to say she isn't allowed to remove an IUD, essentially being forced into birth control. At this point, both Britney's father and her current personal conservator have denied they are controlling her birth control -- but, agreeing that BS wasn't in a position leading up to the hearing to make her own medical decisions.
Abigail isn't the first celebrity to come out in support of Spears, as we reported, Iggy Azalea blasted Jamie Spears claiming she "personally witnessed" some of the abusive behavior of Britney's father. Plus, Christina Aguilera issued a public statement denouncing the conservatorship's control of BS's reproductive rights and supporting her right to be free from the restraints.
In the end, Britney still needs to file a formal "termination" of the conservatorship, which we expect to see any day.
