Pop star Halsey is the latest artist to fall victim to inappropriate fan behavior after a disturbing incident during her Washington, D.C. show went viral. The 31-year-old singer, who uses she/they pronouns, was groped by a concertgoer who reached under her skirt mid-performance, sparking outrage online and reigniting concern over the growing trend of boundary-crossing fans at live shows, a problem that has already plagued stars like Billie Eilish in recent months. The shocking moment took place Tuesday night at The Anthem in Washington, D.C., where Halsey was performing their song “Is There Somewhere.” In a video shared on X (formerly Twitter), a fan can be seen reaching up the singer’s leather skirt and touching her backside while she performed on stage.

Halsey Violated During D.C. Performance

The clip shows the unidentified individual’s hand resting on Halsey’s upper thigh before slipping under the skirt, remaining there for several seconds until a security guard, whose gloved hand enters the frame, finally intervenes and pushes the fan’s hand away.

The disturbing close-up angle, filmed from behind the perpetrator, has left many questioning why security didn’t react sooner, as the incident unfolded in full view of hundreds of concertgoers.

Despite the shocking violation, Halsey appeared completely unaware of what had happened and continued performing without interruption, maintaining her composure throughout the entire ordeal.

Sadly, Halsey’s experience is far from an isolated incident. Just last month, Billie Eilish made headlines after she was grabbed and dragged to the ground by a fan during her Miami concert.

The frightening moment occurred as the 23-year-old Grammy winner was walking along the barricade, greeting fans during her "Hit Me Hard and Soft" tour. A video of the incident shows Billie smiling and giving high-fives, until one fan suddenly latches onto her arm and yanks her down.

Security quickly intervened as screams erupted from the crowd. Though Billie bounced back almost instantly, flipping her hair and continuing as if nothing had happened, the clip shocked fans worldwide.

Sadly, Halsey and Billie Eilish aren’t the only artists dealing with these kinds of violations. Earlier this year, Maren Morris revealed she was also groped by a fan during a meet-and-greet on her "Dreamsicle Tour" stop in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

The “My Church” singer took to Instagram Stories on August 23 to share what happened, writing, “Tonight’s show was so fun but someone grabbed my a-s during meet and greet before the show.”

Despite the shocking violation, Maren told fans she wasn’t going to let one bad experience ruin things for everyone. “I’m going to continue them because one person shouldn’t ruin it for everyone,” she explained, adding a gentle but firm reminder. “Please know I’m there to connect, share, hug, all the things," she said. "But please don’t override someone’s personal space. Love you.”

A Growing Call For Respect And Accountability

From Halsey’s shocking on-stage groping to Billie Eilish’s frightening fall and Maren Morris’s personal encounter, the message across the industry is becoming impossible to ignore as artists are demanding respect, not just admiration.

Fans and fellow artists alike are now urging concert venues and management teams to take stricter safety measures, from better barricade supervision to increased staff training for crowd awareness. But at the heart of it all lies a much simpler fix, and that's basic human decency. Because for artists like Halsey, Billie, and Maren, what should be nights of joy, music, and connection shouldn’t have to come with fear of being touched, grabbed, or pulled against their will.
