Thursday, July 1, marked what would have been the 60th birthday of the late Princess Diana.

In honor of her birthday, a statue of “The People’s Princess” was unveiled in the Sunken Garden of Kensington Palace.

The statue features Diana with one hand on the shoulder of a little boy and the other hand placed on the shoulder of a little girl. The little girl statue is nuzzling the princess’ hand. Another child is located on the backside of Diana.

Diana’s statue was originally commissioned in 2017 on the 20th anniversary of her death.

The Princess tragically passed away in a horrendous car accident in 1997.

Prince William and Prince Harry were both in attendance at the unveiling of the statue despite their personal turmoil.

Diana’s sons put on a united front Thursday while pulling off a massive green covering to unveil the statue to the world.

According to reports, the brothers entered the garden in conversation together before making their way over to greet their aunts and uncle, their mother's siblings Lady Sarah McCorquodale, Lady Jane Fellowes and Earl Spencer.

After pulling away the statue’s covering, William and Harry took a moment to admire the statue with one of their aunts.

Neither William nor Harry gave a speech during the ceremony; however, they did release a statement.

The joint statement released through Kensington Palace read, "Today, on what would have been our Mother's 60th birthday, we remember her love, strength and character -- qualities that made her a force for good around the world, changing countless lives for the better. Every day, we wish she were still with us, and our hope is that this statue will be seen forever as a symbol of her life and her legacy."

The brothers have been at odds now for a while, but they seemed to put their differences aside for their late mother.

This reunion marks the first time the brothers have been together since the passing of their grandfather, Prince Philip’s funeral in April.

Reports say the two seemed at ease during the ceremony while greeting guests and even sharing jokes with a small group of attendees.

Neither Queen Elizabeth II nor Prince Charles were in attendance.

However, there is good reason for their absence.

According to a source at UsWeekly, “The royals wanted to keep it very personal and not have many family members in attendance since that would be a takeaway from the special moment. This wasn’t a last-minute decision; it was decided on a few weeks ago that the other royals wouldn’t be attending. Meghan Markle just had her baby, Duchess Kate watched from afar with the kids, and same with the Queen. Charles had said he didn’t want to be a distraction.”
