During a chat with Gayle King on CBS Mornings on Tuesday, November 4, Cher didn't hold back when the topic of aging came up.

The 70-year-old journalist joked that she still didn't "feel grown up" and had no hang-ups about aging, then asked if Cher felt the same.

The 79-year-old legend shot back without hesitation: "Yes, I hate it! I'm 10 years older than you, babe!"

When King tried to frame aging as a sign of growing "wisdom and experience," Cher playfully disagreed.

"Oh, I'm stupid. I'm not wiser," she quipped, per People Magazine.

Earlier in the chat, the singer opened up about her relationship with her 39-year-old boyfriend, Alexander Edwards, noting that their age gap has never been an issue.

"He just says, 'You know, you get older, but your spirit is younger," she shared.

Cher and Edwards first sparked romance rumors in November 2022 after being spotted having dinner together in West Hollywood.

Shortly after, the music legend appeared to address the public's reaction to their 40-year age gap, taking a lighthearted approach on X (formerly Twitter).

"Haters are gonna hate," she wrote. "Doesn't matter that we're happy and not bothering anyone."

Their connection soon extended beyond romance and into music.

Cher revealed she was "pretty excited" to be collaborating with Edwards, a talented producer and songwriter, on projects including "Drop Top Sleigh Ride" from her 2023 Christmas album.

"He's a producer and a writer, and he does everything," she told E! News in March 2023, "so I'm happy about that."
