The screen goddess took to Instagram two days ago with a heartwarming report on how far she has come in her commitment to staying alcohol-free. Simpson noted that the journey to let go of the "self-sabotaging" parts of her life began 8 years ago.

"Making that decision allowed me to fully live in the pursuit of God's purpose for my life. Alcohol silenced my intuition, blocked my dreams, and chased my circulating fears of complacency," the star added.

She bragged that today she has become a clear, level-headed person, completely driven by faith rather than fear. Simpson affirmed that when she had to choose between faith and the fear surrounding her, she chose the former, which benefited her immensely.

Jessica Simpson Credited Sobriety For A Positive Shift In Her Career

In February, The Blast reported that the singer discussed releasing a purposeful musical project that stemmed from her new, healthier lifestyle. She revealed how taking alcohol out of her system for over five years now has helped set her on the right path artistically.

Since her grand decision, Simpson has confessed that she has embraced a more settled and grounded version of herself, which has brought her peace and ease of mind. She reflected on a significant occurrence in her life, which basically changed the tone of everything:

It was during a songwriting camp in 2016/2017 that the singer felt so disconnected from everything, including what her artistry sounded like. According to her, "Every time I would write, I was a little afraid of myself. It was almost too much, especially because I was drinking at the time."

She initially felt that alcohol made her come up with cool words for her music, but she instantly picked up the stark difference as soon as she gave it up, as her fears disappeared and it became easier to access herself "artistically."

The 45-Year-Old Was Afraid Of Her Kids Seeing Her In A Drunken State

Simpson, during an initial interview in 2022, also credited her conscience for always being the calm voice above the storm of alcohol addiction, ultimately prompting her to quit that lifestyle.

The Blast stated that the actress confessed she suddenly stopped hearing that voice, and that was how she knew the time had truly come for a swift change. Beyond her conscience, she also confessed to ditching the bottles out of concern for her kids ever seeing her knocked out and heavily under the influence.

She recalled zoning out after a Halloween party and being unable to dress her kids up. Simpson added that she felt great shame over the incident, as she could not even recall who dressed her up for the event, and she had to sleep in for the night out of fear that she had failed and disappointed them.

This incident, alongside the voice in her head suddenly taking a break, culminated in a significant moment of change in her life.

2025 opened on the most pleasant note for the adorable mother of three, who made an appearance on a stage after 15 years away from the scene. The actress made her comeback amid reports that she was estranged from her husband, Eric Johnson, months after being spotted in public without a ring.

Simpson appeared radiant on stage, with bright blonde hair, a deep middle part, and a rockstar-inspired ensemble, including a brown leather jacket with fringe details.

The singer gave a brief speech before her performance, declaring, "I don't know, a byproduct of pop stars, I guess. Um, but this time I needed to remember who I was and why I wanted to sing in the first place, and all the music that inspires me, and I needed to forget who they told me to be."

Congratulations to Jessica Simpson and more strength!
