Caitlyn Jenner Reappears At Kardashian Farewell With Awkward Results

Saying goodbye to their longtime Hidden Hills home turned emotional for the Kardashians when Caitlyn Jenner unexpectedly showed up.

Kris Jenner invited her ex-husband to join the family’s farewell dinner, stunning everyone in the room.

For the first time since her exit from the show, Caitlyn sat beside her daughters, Kendall and Kylie, and while smiles were shared, the reunion also brought a few uncomfortable moments that reminded fans just how complex this family remains.

The Kardashian-Jenner clan was in for a shock when Caitlyn Jenner unexpectedly showed up for one last dinner at their longtime Hidden Hills home.

During the Oct. 30 episode of “The Kardashians,” Kris gathered her children to say goodbye to the mansion they lived in for 15 years, then revealed a surprise guest.

“Your dad and I bought this house many years ago, and I think one person isn’t here that should be here,” Kris said per PEOPLE before Caitlyn walked in.

The moment stunned everyone, including daughters Kendall and Kylie, who hadn’t been warned.

Kris told her family it “wouldn’t be the same” without Caitlyn, making the reunion both emotional and slightly tense as the family gathered around the dining table for the farewell.

This marked Caitlyn Jenner’s first appearance on the Hulu reality show since it premiered in 2022.

When “The Kardashians” began after “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” ended, the media personality had expressed disappointment at not being included, calling it “unfortunate” but saying she was “happy” for her family.

Thankfully, the reality TV star got to reunite with her family. Speaking about the reunion, Kris revealed that it happened on a whim.

“About an hour ago, I called Caitlyn and said, ‘What are you doing?’” Kris recalled. Caitlyn replied that she was “eating dinner and watching Fox News.”

Kris then invited her to come say goodbye to their family home, and Caitlyn said she was “on her way.”

While the family was polite, the air was clearly stiff. Some members, including Kendall, looked uncertain as Caitlyn joined them at the table, trying to ease the tension with a joke about buying the $13.5 million home before admitting she couldn’t afford it.

Kendall opened up in her confessional about her complicated relationship with her dad.

“I definitely wasn’t expecting my dad to be here,” she said. “My mom’s had a hard time inviting my dad to family gatherings in the past, so it makes me happy that she thought it was a good idea.”

Still, Kendall admitted she sometimes struggles with Caitlyn’s views.

“We have a good relationship, but I get frustrated with her with certain things because we just have completely different opinions,” she said.

“Other than that, I always wanna include her. I know she doesn’t have a lot outside of family, and I know she gets lonely.”

Despite the emotional distance, Kendall appreciated seeing her parents together again and said it was “nice to have her around.”

Kylie also joined in the warm goodbye hugs, even though the surprise clearly caught both sisters off guard.

While Caitlyn Jenner’s appearance stirred mixed emotions, Kris’s decision to invite her ex showed a rare moment of grace.

In her confessional, Khloé spoke highly of her mother’s maturity, noting that although Kris and Caitlyn had a difficult relationship for years after their divorce, her mom was able to move past it.

She said it was impressive that Kris could let go of past hurt and negativity, even if just for one night.

Kris explained her reasoning, saying it “wasn’t just my house, it was our house.”

The two were married for 22 years before divorcing in 2014, a year before Caitlyn came out as transgender.

Their relationship had been strained ever since, but this dinner seemed to show a small step toward peace, even if some tension remained under the surface.

As the evening came to a close, the family posed for a final photo in the home’s famous entryway, joined by the younger generation, including Reign, True, Saint, Chicago, Dream, and Psalm.

At one point, Kendall had to remind Caitlyn to “put her phone away and smile,” a lighthearted moment that broke the tension.

After dinner, the 76-year-old shared hugs with Kendall, Kylie, Kim, and finally Kris, who thanked her for coming.

“It was a really great surprise for the kids,” Kris said, to which Caitlyn joked, “You owe me one! No, just kidding.”

The emotional reunion ended on a bittersweet note as Caitlyn headed back to Malibu. In her final confessional, Kris reflected on the night.

“I’m so happy we were all here to say goodbye to a house that brought so much joy, love, and memories and that Caitlyn was there. It’s been a really long road, but it was Caitlyn’s house too.”
