Why Soulja Boy Is Apologizing To 'RHOA' Star Kandi Burruss After Threatening To Sue Her In Viral Rant

Soulja Boy is clearing the air with "Real Housewives of Atlanta" star Kandi Burruss.

After threatening to sue the Grammy-winning songwriter in an explosive viral rant, Soulja Boy shared a post reflecting on his statements and apologizing to the TV personality.

As previously reported by The Blast, Soulja Boy's former videographer, Charlie Rocket, caused waves online by making shocking allegations against the "Turn My Swag On" rapper during an episode of Burruss's podcast, "Burruss Banter."

"I want to preface: I'm very grateful for Soulja Boy giving me an opportunity, but I'm grateful for the good and the bad because at this particular time in Las Vegas, I had actually not eaten in three days," Rocket said.

As he went on, Rocket said he met Soulja Boy in his hotel room after Soulja Boy ordered a large amount of room service. "When he was done, there was so much food left over. I was excited. I saw some chicken fingers and I was like, 'Can I can I get those?' 'Cuz I'm hungry, I'm really, really hungry," Rocket shared.

While Rocket shared that Soulja Boy was on board with letting him have the leftovers, he claimed the rapper spat over the food beforehand.

Rocket's comments began circulating immediately, prompting a passionate response from Soulja Boy, who denied the claims and took shots at him and Burruss.

"Somebody tag this b-tch, Kandi, too," he said in the livestream video. "B-tch, why you got this fat a-- [redacted] on your platform talking? I'm gonna sue the f-ck out you and this white n—a.. I'm about to sue the f-ck out Kandi."

Soulja's biggest issue, however, was Rocket's claim that he contaminated someone else's food.

"You're on a motherf-cking internet talking about I spat on your food? You's a b-tch, p-ssy a-- n—a," Soulja Boy said. "Who the f-ck on the road with somebody and don't eat for three days? Kandi, you too, you little baldheaded b-tch. ... Send me the motherf-cking address. Let me pull up, tell my side of the story."

In another viral livestream a few days later, Soulja Boy had a change of heart and offered what appeared to be a heartfelt apology to Burruss.

"I'm sending out an apology to Kandi, man, you know what I'm saying?" he said in a clip shared to X, formerly Twitter. "You know I be overreacting sometimes. I just be seeing stuff on the internet ... But much love to Kandi, if you could find it in your heart to accept my apology."

"I just be getting so mad … Folks lying on me and sh-t, but they're like, 'Man, he should've got mad at the dude, you shouldn't got mad at her,'" he added.

The two music superstars even seemed to squash the beef in person, as pictures and videos of them on the set of Burruss' "Speak On It" podcast were shared online.

Online, fans shared their reactions to Soulja Boy's apology and Burruss making space for him to tell his story on her show.

"Y'all already know Kandi is about her money [and] drama sells! She is not bothered by his stupid rant! Look at us all tuned in/aware of the situation. It's working," a user wrote.

"Kandi the type of woman that has a heart of gold and not a bad bone in her body," another user shared.

Over on Instagram, more users weighed in on Soulja Boy's follow-up video addressed to Burruss, suggesting there was a specific reason for the shift in his demeanor.

"He only apologized because of the pull Kandi has in ATL — he not slick," someone commented.

"Kandi sent them goons from College Park," another added.

"He apologized because the hood don't play about Kandi," a third wrote. "Idk who he thought he was talking to [for real]."

A fourth user joked that Burruss' good friend, rapper T.I., could have called Soulja Boy and instructed him to retract his comments.

"Y'all know TIP called and said, 'Check this out, mane. Here's what you gone do. You gone get on live and apologize expeditiously or we gone have some serious problems,'" the comment read.
