Season 7 of "The Kardashians" on Hulu opened with a montage featuring Kris Jenner inspired by Meryl Streep's iconic role in the 2006 film "The Devil Wears Prada."

The clip showed Kris exiting a luxury vehicle and slowly making her way into her office space. As she walked, the scene cut to shots of her employees, all of whom appeared to be white, frantically running around the office cleaning up spills, switching into heels, clearing clothing racks, and scrambling to perform various other tasks.

Elsewhere in the clip, Kris tosses several expensive items, including a Birkin and a Christian Dior bag, toward her receptionist while simultaneously barking orders.

The Kardashians Spark Backlash, Users Are Wondering If They Employ People Of Color

While likely intended as a lighthearted tribute to Streep's award-winning performance, the opening didn't land well with some social media users, several of whom accused the family of racism and being unoriginal.

"This family only knows how to recreate. Never create," a user said, while another wrote, "Not an ounce of originality or creativity."

"Cute concept, but there's only one MIRANDA PRIESTLY," a third user wrote before a fourth said the original film can "never be duplicated."

Elsewhere in the comment section of @TheNeighborhoodTalk's Instagram, several users pointed out the lack of Black employees featured in the video.

"Not one person of color in sight. Lol this was just weird," a user commented. "Not me more focused on finding the Black employee," another shared.

"Whole bunch of Black grandkids yet not 1 Black person on their team," someone else posted.

But the comments weren't entirely negative, as many other users praised Jenner for the recreation and her well-known business acumen.

Throughout the rest of the episode, the Kardashian crew got extremely candid with the cameras about what viewers had been missing in their lives since the season 6 finale.

Kim, specifically, opened up about how the stress of her marriage to rapper Kanye "Ye" West negatively impacted her physical health, explaining she experienced a psoriasis flare-up for the first time in years.

"I felt more stressed, probably just because I had to super, super protect what I had to protect," she said.

The SKIMS owner got even more emotional during a confessional interview, telling producers that her biggest concern throughout the chaos is her "poor kids."

"Everyone around can handle it, but like, protect my babies," she added. "They’re gonna know things. They’re gonna grow up, they’re gonna see. So my job as a mom is to just make sure that — at a time when that behavior is happening — is just to make sure that they’re protected."

While promoting the new season, Kim discussed the challenges her family faced filming their original series, "Keeping Up With The Kardashians." She explained that keeping things interesting for 20 seasons was more difficult than many might imagine.

One moment that was entirely real, however, was when her stepfather, Caitlyn Jenner, spoke openly about her transition.

While the show chronicled Caitlyn's life and relationship with the rest of the Kardashian-Jenner clan after her transition, she explained her decision in a 2015 interview.

"This shoot was about my life and who I am as a person," she said. "It's not about the fanfare, it's not about people cheering in the stadium, it's not about going down the street and everybody giving you 'that-a-boy, Bruce,' pat on the back, okay. This is about your life."
