The country music singer shut down widespread rumors about his lyric changes on the tour, after many speculated that they stemmed from his ongoing divorce. He and his longtime partner, Nicole Kidman, are officially over after nineteen years of marriage.

Keith Urban's split from Nicole Kidman became public knowledge three months after the latter had proudly celebrated their 19th wedding anniversary in June. The "Big Little Lies" star filed for divorce on September 30, a day after sources revealed she and Urban had been living separately for months.

Urban addressed the speculations about his multiple lyric changes during an October 17 performance at Nashville's Bridgestone Arena. He hit the stage for the final stop of his High and Alive World Tour, and spoke to fans before performing his 2002 song, "You'll Think of Me."

The singer implored fans to stop their wild speculation about his actions, as seen in a TikTok video shared by a user. "I've been covering like this for a long time. Stop reading sh-t into it," Urban told the crowd before beginning his performance.

As though to back up his words, Urban changed the song's lyrics from "Take your space and take your reasons" to "Take your space and all your bullsh-t reasons." He also changed "But you'll think of me," to "But I betcha think about me."

The video generated positive reactions from fans, who supported Urban's stance. "Been a fan of his since the late 1990s. What he said is [hundred points emoji] truth. Leave him be," a TikToker wrote. Another agreed, noting that Urban had changed the lyrics to a song in a 2019 Amsterdam performance.
