There may be no going back for Loughlin in her split from Giannulli. The "Full House" alum, who has been married to the fashion designer for 28 years, announced their separation in a statement through her rep Elizabeth Much, saying they were "living apart and taking a break from their marriage."

Although Much noted in her statement that "no legal proceedings" are underway, the estranged couple seems to be in different places, thereby making a reconciliation highly improbable.

An insider told People Magazine that the tough past few years have driven a wedge between them and "put a strain on his marriage."

Loughlin and Giannulli were the most high-profile couple embroiled in the 2019 "Varsity Blues" college admissions scandal, in which the feds accused them of paying $500,000 to college admission fixer Rick Singer.

They paid the bribe to secure their daughter, Olivia Jade's, admission to the University of Southern California's rowing team despite previously not having any experience in the sport.

The estranged couple both served time in federal prison after pleading guilty to committing wire and mail fraud. Loughlin was made to serve 2 months, while Giannulli served 5 months.

It appears they couldn't get back from the scandal and its legal consequences, as a source told the Daily Mail the embarrassment "killed" their marriage and drove their family apart.

The source said that it's "obviously been tough, but Olivia and Bella aren't taking sides."

"They both love their parents and just want them to be happy. At the end of the day, they just want everyone to be okay," they added.

Meanwhile, Gianulli has sparked rumors he may have moved on as a source predicted that the fashion icon would be dating again "soon."

A source told the Daily Mail that the former couple has been living "separate lives for a long time" after the college scandal affected their relationship. Now, Gianulli is suspected to already be on the lookout for another partner.

"I don't know if he has someone else, or if she does. He's certainly not talking about that to his friends if there's someone on the side," the source noted. "But I bet he finds another woman soon if he doesn't already have one. That just seems pretty much like what he'd do."

Gianulli recently set tongues wagging when he was spotted hanging out with stylist Hannah Harrison, but she quickly dispelled the rumors, saying it's just business.
