Playboi Carti Hit With Assault Charge After Alleged Heated Exchange With GF Over Sex

Playboi Carti is in a legal mess, and an eyewitness saw it go down live!

The musician allegedly got physically abusive with his partner and driver a few weeks ago, and now he has a misdemeanor charge on his radar.

Playboi Carti has appeared a few times in the news for his controversial behavior, including chasing down his pregnant girlfriend in 2023 and allegedly assaulting her.

The rapper reportedly got into a tussle in Utah earlier in the month, and his limousine driver, Carl Reynold, provided a detailed account of the event during his Antagonist Tour.

According to him, the singer attacked him and his girlfriend while he was transporting him and his entourage from the Waldorf Astoria in Park City to rehearsals.

The sad night reportedly began with Carti getting into an argument with his girlfriend over sex as he drove, and the rapper seemingly threatened to beat up both of them after he was forced to de-escalate the situation.

He eventually punched his girlfriend in the chest, and to prevent a repeat, Reynold pulled over to a safer location on the highway in Heber City.

According to TMZ, Reynold stated to the police that he also tried to get the head of security to get him out of the car and into another one, preferably the one with the head of security.

While Reynold pulled all the stops to get Carti and his girlfriend in separate vehicles, the rapper reportedly had a more sinister plan up his sleeve. As his girlfriend exited the vehicle, the driver recalled Carti hitting him out of the blue and leaving him with a bad, swollen jaw and a whiplash effect.

The gory scene reportedly forced Reynold's head of security to intervene and break up the fight. Still, it did not happen without another driver witnessing the attack, which Reynold used to buttress his complaints.

Wasatch County police also arrived at the scene and took pictures of the driver's injuries, alongside confirming that an investigation was ongoing on the matter. Reynold is also preparing to take the legal route with the case. 

The 30-year-old repeated a very similar pattern two years ago when he reportedly assaulted his very pregnant and terrified girlfriend at the time. The Blast reported back then that the fight reportedly broke out in Atlanta, Georgia, where he was also arrested.

He seemingly grabbed his girlfriend's throat till she could not breathe and pushed her after she asked for a paternity test. Following the argument and his outburst, Carti was arrested and charged with aggravated assault.

However, Carti reacted to the arrest and allegation, noting that he was falsely accused, but an eyewitness countered his claim, stating that he saw the rapper covering his girlfriend's mouth, obstructing her from calling 911 for necessary help.

The law enforcement agents who arrived on the scene also corroborated the story in a way, as they claimed the female had marks on her neck, chest, and back.

Azalea and Carti welcomed a son together, Onyx, during the relationship, which ended a few years ago. As stated by The Blast, Azalea explained that their breakup happened due to the unkind ways Carti treated her.

Narrating how she ended the relationship, Azalea shared that they had an issue one time, and she suddenly woke up with an epiphany. In her words:

"And it was just one of those moments where I didn't wake up thinking this would be what my day would be. But by the end of the day, I was on my way to Los Angeles, and I never went back, and that was the end of it."

She noted that witnessing her parents' toxic marriage also reinforced her decision to seek a better life for her son, and she knew being with Carti would never afford him that kind of safe environment.

"I don't want him to see someone talk to me this way, I don't want him to ever learn this, I don't want to expose him to this," the "No Mediocre" star concluded.

In 2022, the rapper’s estranged girlfriend took to social media to dispel his statements about being an active co-parent to their son. During an interview, Carti had claimed he was a very present father who paid the bills and took care of his son and baby mama (Azalea). 

As soon as the interview became public, Azalea swung into action and verbally chastised the rapper for attempting to circulate such untrue claims about himself.

She emphasized that he was far from responsible, as he often talked down to her, handpicking the most abusive words from his vocabulary to describe her. Azalea added that while Carti described her as the best mother in the world in that interview, it does not translate to how he treats her in real life.

The duo were rumored partners in 2018, but seemingly parted ways in 2019 after numerous cheating allegations, before she surprisingly announced the birth of her son in June 2020.
