Megan Thee Stallion has no time for online trolls who question her status as one of the most celebrated female rappers in the industry. During a candid conversation with actress Taraji P. Henson, the "HISS" rapper admitted she's at a different place in her career. According to the 30-year-old, after years of growth, her purpose for creating music has changed.

When asked about charts and numbers at Taraji P. Henson's "I Am the Table Benefit Brunch," Megan addressed the new era of music and how she's evolved since rising to fame in the early 2020s.

"Of course, I'm competitive. Of course, rap is competitive, and hell yeah, I wanna win. I wanna be number one, for sure, but that's not why I do it," she said. "I felt like, at a point, to please my fans because I love that my fans are very competitive, but I don't wanna be tongue-wrestling on Twitter with you motherf-ckers about charting. And y'all don't even like my music."

As she went on, Megan explained that she got caught up in the instant gratification when she first hit the scene, prompting her to put out more and more.

"Y'all wanna bully other people because you think that the next girl is not doing as good as me, or you think that I'm not doing as good as the next girl, but did you listen to any of my songs, for real? Do you hear what I'm saying? Do you like what I'm saying? Or you just wanna brag?" she continued. "So I felt like, d-mn, I gotta make music because I gotta be number one. I gotta chart, I gotta do this. "

"Now, I'm like, you know what? [No] I'm gonna drop music when I feel like it. If you rock with me as Megan Thee Stallion, if you a hottie, thank you so much," she concluded.

Megan Thee Stallion isn't the only female rapper getting candid about the pressure that comes from online critics constantly mentioning streaming numbers. According to a previous report from The Blast, Cardi B shared a similar statement in a recent interview, fiercely slamming the trolls who labeled her last album a "flop."

"It's been such drama with the numbers," the former "Love & Hip Hop" star said. "First of all, I'm very proud of my number. Very proud of my number. We're in a very different era when it comes to music. So, not only am I proud of my numbers, but you got b-tches from the sideline that are going to try to make you not feel proud of your numbers."

Cardi B's second album, "Am I The Drama?" debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart after moving 200,000 equivalent units.

"So people will try to discourage you about your numbers, but clearly, they don't discourage me," she said. "That's what people will try to do, but it fails. It fails when 1000s of videos are being made to your music. And then there's 1000s of people doing memes to your songs. There's so many people that was doubting my album, that is like, 'You know what, her album is good.'"
