Diddy wants former pal, Donald Trump, to save him after receiving a 50-month prison sentence.

The disgraced music mogul failed in his attempts to bag a shorter prison sentence following his guilty conviction on charges of transportation to engage in prostitution. After his October 3 sentencing, sources claimed his team immediately pushed for clemency.

Diddy's desire to make Donald Trump his get-out-of-jail card made waves in August when his attorney implied the former pals could reunite over their shared hatred for prosecutors.

Trump unveiled Diddy's attempts to secure clemency while speaking to reporters at the White House on Monday, October 6. "I call him Puff Daddy; he has asked me for a pardon," the president claimed.

However, Trump did not indicate whether he would grant Diddy's request. Sources told TMZ the rapper's reps immediately contacted the White House after he was sentenced to 50 months in prison, a little over four years.

Sources alleged Diddy's team spoke to a White House insider with direct access to Trump. CNN reported a similar narrative in August, noting that one of his legal representatives, Nicole Westmoreland, confirmed they had contacted Trump's administration about a potential pardon.

However, a White House official stressed that they "will not comment on the existence or nonexistence of any clemency request" at the time.

One of Diddy's attorneys, Mark Geragos, addressed the clemency talks during an August appearance on the "2 Angry Men" podcast. The Blast covered the story, reporting that he believed his client and Trump could reunite over their mutual dislike for prosecutors.

Geragos explained that those who have been tried criminally typically felt tormented by prosecutors, an experience Trump and Diddy shared. He noted they could bond over their legal ordeals, with Diddy becoming a significant MAGA supporter if Trump pardoned his crimes.

The attorney's words followed Trump's comments about a possible pardon. The POTUS implied Diddy might not receive clemency due to their contentious past. He claimed the pair were friends until he ran for office. He noted that the music mogul turned "hostile" and criticized his presidential campaign.

Although Diddy contacted Trump for a presidential pardon, he wasn't leaving his fate in the politician's hands. The Blast shared that he requested a transfer to FCI Fort Dix, imploring the judge to let him serve his 50-month prison sentence in the low-security federal correctional institution.

Diddy, who has been incarcerated at MDC Brooklyn since his September 2024 arrest, argued that he shouldn't be transferred to a maximum-security prison. His lawyers noted FCI Fort Dix was the best option to address the entertainer's needs.

The defense team claimed Diddy needed to be in a low-security facility like FCI Fort Dix to "address drug abuse issues," "maximize family visitation," and continue his "rehabilitative efforts." It remains to be seen if Judge Arun Subramanian will grant Diddy's request.

Following Diddy's October 3 sentencing, mixed reactions to the news have flooded social media platforms. Alan Dershowitz, one of the lawyers on O.J. Simpson's defense team, was among those with strong reactions to the event.

The Blast reported that the renowned attorney slammed Diddy for ruining his chances at freedom, claiming he made a grave mistake ahead of his sentencing. He explained that his plans to participate in a public speaking engagement in another state were a "slap in the face to the judge."

"I can't imagine anything more stupid than that," Dershowitz fumed, noting he would have quit on the spot if he were Diddy's attorney. He added that the entertainer had sealed his fate with his actions and he would never have represented "somebody who is so stupid and arrogant."

While Dershowitz believes Diddy's public speaking engagement played a role in his 50-month sentencing, another of Simpson's attorneys blamed the 11-minute video detailing his family's testimony.

Robert Shapiro explained that family testimony could be "extremely emotional;" however, it often left room for judgment. He also suspected that Judge Subramanian had already decided on Diddy's sentence before the October 3 proceedings.

Subramanian sentenced Diddy to 50 months in prison with five years of supervised release and a $500,000 fine. When he was given the chance to speak, the music mogul apologized for his actions, particularly to his former partner, Cassandra "Cassie" Ventura, and another victim referred to as Jane Doe.
