The dark days of Ozzy Osbourne's life come to light after his death.
Details from the documentary about the late rocker's life revealed how he almost took a drastic decision to end his pain once and for all, but something stalled the plan.
Ozzy Osbourne died on July 22, 2025, following years-long complications from Parkinson's and surgeries for his neck and back injuries. The death occurred a few weeks after his final show in Birmingham, where he performed alongside his former band, "Black Sabbath."
Ozzy Osbourne Revealed When He Changed His Mind About Suicide

In his upcoming Paramount+ documentary "Ozzy: No Escape From Now, the singer confessed that when it began looking like his career was going to be significantly affected by his injuries and surgeries, depression set in.
He noted that the thought of ending it all came to his mind as a way to evade such a sad reality, before he was placed on antidepressants.
However, Ozzy explained that his inability to see things through affected his decision and gave him more time till he finally got over that feeling. In his words, as shared by US Weekly:
"I'll go there in my head and I go, 'What are you f-cking talking about?' Because knowing me, I'd half-do it and I'd be half-dead. I mean, I wouldn't die, you know? That's my luck."
The late rock legend suffered a nasty fall on stage in 2019, adding to his complications from an earlier surgery done after his ATV accident in 2003.
Sharon Osbourne Claimed Botched Surgery Caused More Damages To His Health

The family matriarch in the documentary complained that his surgery following the stage fall in 2019 worsened his health. As shared by Page Six, Sharon noted that her husband's Parkinson's disease and the aggressive route that was taken during surgery made the whole situation too much to bear for Ozzy.
Sharon stated that another doctor declared that the surgical screws and metal plates, which were fixed in his back and spine, were unnecessary as they only made things worse. Despite the efforts of another surgeon to salvage things, the damage to Ozzy's health remained irreversible.
The singer's son, Jack Osbourne, blasted the physicians for messing with his father's nerves during the back surgery, ultimately costing him his ability to move. Jack emphasized his regret about the whole process, which could have been avoided from the beginning.
Kelly Osbourne Earlier Debunked Circulating Rumors About Ozzy Osbourne's Death

In a report by The Blast, a few days before the rock icon passed away, his daughter and media personality, Kelly Osbourne, took to social media to address reports about Ozzy's possible death.
The 40-year-old slammed internet users for raising false observations about her dad's health at the time, after a follower suggested his Parkinson's disease was at "stage 5."
The fan noted that the illness would soon prevent the singer from breathing and functioning, which meant the curtain was gradually drawing to a close for the rockstar. A very agitated Kelly replied to the fan, educating them about Parkinson's and explaining that it does not progress in stages.
She urged the "rude" fan to desist from consuming AI-generated content of her father, seemingly admitting that his death was very near. The mother-of-one confirmed that while the illness had significantly reduced her dad's mobility, the reality on the ground was far from him drawing his last breath.
Kelly Reflected On The Unpredictability Of Her Late Father's Illness

The Osbournes skillfully managed their patriarch's medical condition behind closed doors. Kelly revealed that the rollercoaster of it all made the experience tedious sometimes.
As noted by The Blast, in an interview last year, the singer discussed how Parkinson's disease requires double the attention, effort, and planning due to its unpredictable nature. She disclosed that separating the good and bad days sometimes became confusing, as everyone always prepared for the worst.
Caring for Ozzy through his illness opened Kelly's eyes to a reality she had never seen before about how delicate such a dominating figure in her life had become.
The star confessed that she spent a chunk of her life believing her parents were invincible, and the realization of how untrue that belief was crept up on her. Kelly affirmed that since she made that discovery, it became her responsibility to continually look after those who had given her everything in life.
Ozzy Osbourne And His Wife Allegedly Once Shared A Suicide Pact

Ironically, suicide has remained a subtly occurring theme in the Osbourne household, although it has always been mentioned in passing. At some point in Sharon and Ozzy’s lives, they reportedly agreed to get euthanized should their health miserably decline.
The couple agreed to this arrangement to seemingly lift the burden of caring for a sick older person from their children’s shoulders. Well, when Ozzy got ill, that pact never materialized; instead, Sharon dedicated her life to caring for her late husband, especially while preparing for his final show.
The media personality, who had managed her husband for decades, pulled all the strings to ensure the rockstar performed comfortably while sitting in a chair before a sold-out crowd.
Sharon has not stopped looking after him now that he is dead. The manager is reportedly focused on protecting his legacy and estate, with zero thoughts of remarrying or finding a romantic partner.
