WNBA star Angel Reese has already proven she's more than a basketball player, from posing on the cover of Vogue to serving on the Host Committee for this year's Met Gala. Additionally, the Chicago Sky star will soon make her film debut in the Netflix movie "A House of Dynamite," starring Idris Elba. Of course, since winning an NCAA championship in 2023, Reese's star has been on the rise, and according to her, that's all part of the plan.
Angel Reese Reveals Her Off-Season Plans After Making Film Debut Alongside Idris Elba

In an interview with PEOPLE, Reese explained that filming her spot in the new Netflix film, scheduled for release on October 24, inspired her to take her goal of becoming an actress seriously.
"I want to get an acting coach," Reese said. "I was talking to Common — he's overseas right now shooting season 2 of 'Silo' — and he was telling me, 'You got to hire an acting coach.'"
Thanks to the advice from Common, who has starred in movies like "Selma" and "Ocean's 8," Reese said she's ready to make the leap and strengthen her skills in the entertainment industry.
"I model already, so it's like adding to the résumé. I'm young right now, so I'm going to do it while I'm young," she said.
Angel Reese Gets Real About Filming Her First Movie

According to a report from The Hollywood Reporter, Reese has a surprise cameo toward the end of the new political thriller coming to Netflix.
In her scene, Reese's character meets up with Elba's character at Liberty Arena, where the WNBA star is waiting for him on the basketball court with a group of friends.
Elba's character shoots around with Reese and discusses the impact sports have had on his life before being swept away to deal with a "developing catastrophe."
As it was her first film, Reese admitted to being "really nervous" on set, but said that thanks to her castmates—including Rebecca Ferguson, Greta Lee, Kaitlyn Dever, and Elba—she wound up fitting right in.
"The girls there made me feel comfortable," she said, later revealing how grateful she was to be able to "work with the best."
Reese also recalled the important piece of advice Elba gave her: "Stay confident. Be yourself. Have fun."
Reese Has Always Wanted To Be More Than One Thing

Although she's breaking records in the WNBA, Reese has always made it clear that she wanted to be more than just a basketball player.
As previously reported by The Blast, Reese has long been open about the business deals she secured while at LSU and her eagerness for the opportunities that would come after graduation.
"The deals don't just stop in college," Reese said. "When you go to the pros, they continue, and I feel like they've grown even more. Now that I'm a pro, I can do so much more."
Is Angel Reese Playing In Unrivaled?

Reese's most recent admission about her off-season plans comes days after WNBA fans began expressing concern about whether she'd be playing in the second season of Unrivaled—a professional 3x3 league founded by Olympic gold medalists Breanna Stewart and Napheesa Collier.
Reese was one of the highlights of Unrivaled's first season, leading the league in rebounds and leading her team, ROSE BC, in blocked shots. Her efficiency on the court helped lead her team to the league's first championship, which they won, and she was later crowned Unrivaled's first-ever Defensive Player of the Year.
Her participation in the second season seemed almost certain; however, when the league's general manager revealed that they were in "productive negotiations" with a few other players, it raised concerns among her fans, who shared their fears online.
"I feel like my emotions are being played with. Is AR5 playing or naw?" a user asked.
Did Reese Respond To The Concern About Her Off-Season Future?
Following the wave of concern, Reese shared a video on TikTok with a cryptic message, prompting even more frantic posts about Reese's off-season plans.
In the clip, Reese was seen lip-syncing to a voiceover of Kenya Moore's "Real Housewives of Atlanta" tagline, in which she says, "People get exhausted trying to figure me out, and I just let them."
One user immediately fired back, insisting the Bayou Barbie was trying to give her followers a hint.
"She put this out for y'all asking about Unrivaled," they wrote.
