Travis Kelce Has A Major Issue With Philadelphia Eagles' Star A.J. Brown Blasting Team On Social Media

Following the Eagles' win over Baker Mayfield and the rest of the Tampa Bay lineup, Brown, who only tallied two receptions for seven yards during the contest, shared a mysterious message on X, formerly Twitter, which many believed was directed at his teammates, specifically quarterback Jalen Hurts.

“If you’re not welcomed, not listened to, quietly withdraw,” the post, which was of a Bible verse, read. “Don’t make a scene. Shrug your shoulders and be on your way.” However, Travis, 35, took issue with Brown's post and made his concerns heard during the latest episode of his podcast.

"You're 4-0, boss," Travis said. "C'mon, man."

His comments didn't sit well with his brother, Jason, who announced his retirement from the Eagles in March 2024, saying he wholeheartedly "disagreed" with his younger brother's point of view. Jason also pointed to Brown's exceptional ability on the field, seemingly implying that he could understand why the Super Bowl champion might be frustrated with by the slow start to his season.

"I don’t think that it’s unfathomable that a player of A.J. Brown’s caliber — I think that he should be upset that he’s not being utilized in this offense," Jason said. "I think that is a normal feeling, and I think he should feel comfortable explicitly saying that to the players and coaches within that locker room. I do. I don’t think that’s a dick move, a selfish move. A.J. knows the level of player he is and what he can do to offenses."

Although Jason agreed that there was a better way for Brown to express his frustrations, he added that a simple way to smooth over some of the tension was to target Brown more during the Eagles' upcoming games.

"That's not how things work in the NFL," Travis replied before bringing the conversation back to the Eagles' winning record.

"It’s frustrating for A.J. right now, clearly, because he’s going to social media to let everybody know how frustrated he is," Travis continued. "It’s also really hard for me to get mad when we’re winning. I don’t find that energy or that feeling in me if we’re winning, if we’re having success, if we’re putting up points, if we’re winning football games."

By the end of Travis' conversation with his brother, however, he seemed to shift his position slightly, acknowledging how emotionally charged the game of football can be.

"I can’t say that I’ve never gotten frustrated and lashed out and done something to let everyone know this is how I feel about it. We all love the f-cking game. We all want to win, and we all want to have fun doing it," he said.

According to a previous report from The Blast, Travis has had his own headline-making blowups during his NFL career. Most recently, cameras captured the 6'5" tight-end's temper flaring during a heated conversation with his head coach, Andy Reid, during the Chiefs' game against the New York Giants in late September 2025. Almost a year before that, Travis concerned fans and viewers when he was seen bumping Reid, 67, with his chest during their appearance at Super Bowl LVIII in February 2024.

Travis addressed his behavior during another episode of "New Heights," according to ESPN, admitting he had "crossed the line." He continued, "I can't get that fired up to that point where I'm bumping Coach and it's getting him off balance and stuff."

Luckily for Travis, Coach Reid understands that the "Grotesquerie" actor's explosive temperament on the sideline is just part of the game.

"He's a passionate guy and I love that part," Reid said about Travis. "I've been through a lot of things with him, that's all part of it. I love that he loves to play the game; that's what I love [about him]. And it's an emotional game, so I'll take it."

Brown Addresses His Comments On X, Takes Accountability For Causing Chaos

According to a report from the NFL, Brown addressed the controversy while speaking with the media, taking accountability for his actions.

"First off, I want to start off by saying, obviously, Sunday after the game I let my frustrations boil over," Brown said. "I didn't speak to the media. I had a chance to correct my frustrations, and I continued to let it boil over, and that's on me. I take full accountability on that."

Brown went on to say that his message, although posted directly following the Eagles' Sunday win, was not "directed" at anyone attached to the organization. "... not my coaches, not my quarterback, my GM, nobody," he said.

"I take full accountability. I have open communication with all of my coaches and with my quarterback, as well. Me and my coaches — KP (offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo), (head coach) Nick (Sirianni) — we discuss weekly about trying to get this thing on the same page," he continued.

What's Going On With Brown And The Philadelphia Eagles?

Since the season began, Brown has had 14 catches for 151 yards and one touchdown. 109 of those 151 yards came during his impressive performance during the Eagles' comeback win over the Los Angeles Rams.

The NFL reports that aside from his singular target during his team's season opener, Brown has received at least eight targets over the last three games he's appeared in.

"I think it's normal to have frustrations because of the standard we hold ourselves to," Brown said. "And we have a lot of talent on offense and, to be honest, defense and special teams, have been low-key carrying us."

"We need to clean up what we need to clean up and get on the same page and play to the ability that we say we can, and be who we are called to be. It's a standard that we preach. So it's easy to have that frustration. I think it's fair to have that frustration. But I just can't let that boil over," Brown concluded.

Brown will rejoin the Eagles on Sunday, October 5, when they face off against Bo Nix and the Denver Broncos.
