According to social media footage shared by The Shade Room, NeYo was in the middle of performing his hit song "Because of You" at the Glion Arena Kobe when a fan stormed up the steps and onto the stage.
In the clip, NeYo, wearing an all-black outfit and matching cowboy hat, appears visibly confused before the fan opens his arms in front of him, prompting the father of seven to aggressively shove the man out of his way.
However, NeYo didn't let the situation end there. After the show was over, he posted a stern message on his Instagram account, warning those attending his shows that he wouldn't tolerate any disrespect.

NeYo later reshared the clip to his Instagram Stories and wrote, "This is what you DON'T do. I'm a gentleman but I WILL slap the sh-t out of a person disrespecting my stage."
He went on, "And then keep the party going. Don't try me. All love, til it's not."

"Lmao, [NeYo] ain't miss a note," a user wrote, while another added, "I don't blame him, because why get up there and stand in front of [me] like Christ The Redeemer."
Some other netizens, however, weren't as gleeful as the others, with one saying, "Ain't one NeYo song that would've made me run up to join in," while another posted, "Dawg think he did something."
Several other users questioned the security team and brought up the dangers situations like this could present.
NeYo Became A Trending Topic Over His 'Pyramid'

As previously reported by The Blast, NeYo sparked major controversy in March 2025 when he introduced the world to his "pyramid" of four romantic partners.
"Since the world is so intrigued, I guess I should introduce my loves properly," he posted on Instagram. "LADIES AND GENTS, I PRESENT MY PYRAMID," he continued, eventually introducing his followers to "Cristina ("Pretty Baby"), Arielle ("Twin Flame"), Moneii ("Phoneix Feather"), and Bri ("Sexy Lil' Somethin'")."
He added a pointed message to his detractors, saying, "Say something nice or move on with your life. We happy over here."
'My Love Life Is Phenomenal'

Months after opening up about his nontraditional relationship, NeYo appeared alongside popular streamer Kai Cenat on his Twitch stream and boasted about his love life, calling it "phenomenal" before revealing he was in a "great space."
"I am currently in a polyamorous relationship. I have four beautiful ladies that move with me on the regular. They’re actually here," he said, per PEOPLE.
In a separate post shared online, NeYo could also be seen detailing more specifics about his relationship with his "pyramid," revealing each partner plays a different and unique role.
"Everybody has their own thing," he said. "And it works. It works perfectly."
And while it may be his new normal, some people feel strongly that the "So Sick" singer should keep parts of his personal life to himself.
