Mama June Cries Out After Daughter Honey Boo Boo's 'First Car Wreck'

Mama June is speaking out after a frightening moment for her daughter, Alana "Honey Boo Boo" Thompson, who was caught in her very first car crash Friday afternoon.

The accident comes on the heels of Alana navigating family drama over her mom allegedly dipping into her Coogan account, a dispute she has been trying to move past.

Now, Honey Boo Boo is recovering from the car accident, while Mama June is making sure fans know just how shaken the family is by the scare.

Mama June is shaken after her daughter, Alana, was involved in her very first car accident. The 20-year-old was pulling out of the driveway of her Colorado home when a speeding driver slammed into the driver's side of her vehicle.

In a video posted online, Mama June explained that the young man behind the wheel admitted to going 40 MPH down the road before hitting her daughter. She added that if Alana had pulled out just seconds later, the wreck could have been much worse.

Mama June shared details of the ordeal in a heartfelt Instagram post, telling fans that while Alana was treated at the hospital, she is now back home recovering from her injuries.

"She is banged up a little bit, but other than that, she is OK. First car wreck," June wrote, noting her daughter had only been on her way to get her hair done before the crash derailed her plans. Despite the accident, Alana insists she is still determined to start her clinicals the next day.

Mama June's quick trip to Colorado to be by Alana's side after her recent car accident highlights just how far their relationship has come.

The Blast noted that back in June, Alana was still dealing with the fallout of her mom parting ways with several thousand dollars from her Coogan account without permission.

At the time, she admitted the incident had left a mark, but she was ready to move forward. In a candid interview, the younger star said things between her and her mom are now on much better terms.

"We're pretty good. Like, we're in a good spot right now," she explained, adding, "I guess you only live once … you can't mourn over the same thing forever." Alana also revealed that Mama June has begun repaying the money, proof that their bond is slowly being rebuilt.

Alana raised alarms earlier this year after realizing her savings did not add up. In a March 2024 episode of "Mama June: Family Crisis," the reality TV star voiced her frustration about needing answers.

Having worked in television since the age of six, she expected her Coogan account to reflect years of earnings. Instead, she and her sister, Lauryn "Pumpkin" Efird, found only $33,000, far less than the six-figure balance they anticipated.

The shocking discovery put Mama June in the hot seat. At first, she denied touching Alana's money but later admitted to taking some of it. She defended her actions, claiming the withdrawals went toward Alana's upbringing and needs.

Before her recent car accident, Alana was already making headlines for speaking openly about her future with longtime boyfriend Dralin Carswell.

In May, The Blast reported that she revealed marriage is definitely part of their future, though not anytime soon. She explained, "Not until after school, probably. Just because it's so expensive and a wedding is a lot of work."

She also admitted she has thought about starting a family one day, stating, "I want to have kids eventually. I don't want to have a lot of kids—I want maybe two, that's it—but not for a long time." However, Alana noted her desire to keep her future children out of the spotlight. 

Mama June is facing more than family drama these days; she is also battling health concerns that have left fans worried.

The Blast reported that the 46-year-old admitted she has health issues just weeks after a psychic predicted she could be at risk of a heart attack. The fortune teller told her she was carrying too much stress, warning it could take a serious toll on her health.

Not long after, the star ended up in the hospital with intense pain. Doctors later discovered ovarian cysts as the cause, but the experience prompted her to speak more openly about her health.

On Instagram, Mama June shared that it had been nearly eight months since the scare, adding, "I haven't had a heart attack yet, but I have been dealing with a lot of health issues and still dealing with them."
