Taylor Swift continues to pay for her former friendship with Blake Lively as Justin Baldoni's attempt to serve her leads to an early morning arrest.
The drama reportedly occurred last Monday, September 15, when the private investigator hired by the "It Ends With Us" director attempted to serve Swift with deposition papers. Two days before the incident, a judge denied Baldoni's request for an extension.
Taylor Swift became embroiled in the ongoing legal drama between Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively because of her past ties to the actress. Additionally, she hasn't been at peace following the disappearance of the man who claimed she was the mother of his child.
Justin Baldoni's Private Eye Reportedly Arrested Trying To Serve Taylor Swift

A former cop-turned-private eye found himself on the wrong side of the law when he was arrested on September 15 for trespassing. He was taken into custody at Travis Kelce's private gated neighborhood after attempting to serve the athlete's fiancée, Swift, with deposition papers.
According to reports, authorities were dispatched to Kelce's posh neighborhood shortly after 2 a.m., and the private eye was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of criminal trespassing. Page Six confirmed that he was released after posting bond.
The private eye, identified as Justin Lee Fisher, was caught after jumping the fence of Kelce's property. He was scheduled to appear in Leawood Municipal Court on October 15 and lamented about the outcome of his actions while speaking to Star Magazine.
"Besides being arrested for doing my job and possibly losing my [private eye] license," Fisher wailed. He was tasked with serving Swift deposition papers by Baldoni's legal team, which had lost its plea for an extension two days before the private eye's arrest.
Judge Denies The 'Jane The Virgin' Star's Extension Request

According to court documents obtained by CNN, Baldoni's request for an extension to depose Swift was denied. Judge Lewis Liman noted in his ruling on Friday, September 12, that the actor's legal team had failed to do their due diligence and did not deserve an extension.
"Discovery has been ongoing in this case for approximately six months. They have offered no evidence that they have served a renewed subpoena on Swift," the judge argued, adding, "Having failed to demonstrate appropriate diligence, the requested extension is denied."
Additionally, Judge Liman was unimpressed by Baldoni's reason for an extension. His legal team had requested that the deposition be extended to the end of October, citing Swift's busy schedule. However, the legal umpire stressed that the singer's professional obligations were not a valid reason for an extension.
Why The Deposition Attempt Might Have Triggered Swift

Baldoni's attempt to depose Swift with a private eye might have triggered a bad memory for the singer, who has faced stalker threats. The Blast shared that she was currently butting heads with a man identified as Brian Jason Wagner.
Wagner repeatedly harassed the "Bad Blood" hitmaker for months, leading to a restraining order that was granted on June 9. The protection order was extended to September 22 after Wagner's sudden disappearance and refusal to appear in court to face his crimes.
Swift went as far as hiring a private investigator to track down Wagner, but the man remained elusive, leaving the singer and her team fearing for her safety. The alleged stalker claimed Swift was the mother of his child and would frequently visit her home unannounced, trying to gain access.
Blake Lively Slammed Justin Baldoni's Extension Request

While Swift was dealing with her alleged stalker, Baldoni added more worries to her plate by attempting to drag her into his legal battle with Lively. The Blast reported that the actress's legal team slammed his request for an extension to depose the singer.
Lively's attorneys argued that Baldoni's corner had waited until the last minute before deciding to depose Swift. They implored the court to deny the extension request, noting that the dates they had requested, from October 20 to 25, fell outside the court's discovery deadline.
Additionally, Lively's legal team claimed that Baldoni's attempt to depose Swift leaned more toward creating a "media spectacle" in their case rather than gathering evidence. The lawyers added that Baldoni had repeatedly tried to link Swift to the case, despite her being a third party and having no relevant input.
Taylor Swift Refused To Be A Part Of The Legal Debacle

When Baldoni's legal team pushed for an extension, they alleged that Swift had agreed to be deposed. However, her attorney refuted the claims, stressing that she never consented to the deposition because she had no "material role" in the case.
Swift's attorney noted that she would only agree to be deposed if compelled to do so by law. On that note, her legal representative explained that she wouldn't be available until the week of October 20 due to her busy schedule.
The Blast reported that her attorney filed his response in court after Baldoni's team claimed she had agreed to the deposition. Although she wanted no part in the legal drama, the actor dragged her into the matter when he filed a $400 million defamation lawsuit against Lively earlier this year.
Will Justin Baldoni's failed attempt to depose Taylor Swift stop him from trying to involve her in his battle with Blake Lively?
