Taylor Swift In 'Coconut' Bra Told She Looks 'Awkward And Cheap'

Pop star Taylor Swift is still facing criticism over her new album artwork. Her new album, "The Life of a Showgirl," drops on October 3, but, in true Swift fashion, she isn't just releasing a new album. Instead, she is releasing the music video in theaters and creating a whole theatrical event to promote her new era. However, many fans are still not fond of her new album artwork, with many criticizing her ill-fitting outfits and graphic design elements that some are calling "pure cringe."

The “Anti-Hero” singer advertised the theatrical event with a poster that featured her posing in a red showgirl outfit, complete with a glittering red bra. One fan told others on Reddit that they were “completely flabbergasted” by the outfit, calling it “awful.”

They titled their post, “This is by far the ugliest promo picture to date...” and went on to write, “The bangs, the f-ck -ss eyeliner, THE BRA?? Everything about this is unflattering.”

Fans were quick to agree, with one fan saying that the concept was “giving ‘Temu Presents: Showgirls 2!’” They went on to say, “It honestly looks like she's in a cheap Halloween costume and hasn't had her hair and makeup done yet. I just don't get how someone can do this theme and have it come out like this. It's not the brilliant look she claims she always goes for; it's just boring.”

Many were quick to criticize her hair and her bangs in the comments. It’s not the first time that such a complaint has surfaced, with one user declaring, “She put zero effort into hair for any of the photos for this album.” Another fan admitted that it worked during her folklore/evermore era, “but not since then.”

Her bra was also the subject of controversy, with one fan calling out her “coconut bra” in a long list of complaints. “It’s so bad. I first saw this picture yesterday and thought the same. Each time a look at it a new detail jumps out at me,” they wrote. “The sh-tty lighting. Terrible styling. Her blank face giving nothing. Her stupid little bangs. The coconut bra. What is this?”

“Thank you for saying coconut bra because that's exactly what it is. I was trying to figure out what it reminded me of, but really didn't want to go back and stare to try and figure it out,” another user shared. “I may not like Taylor, but that still felt too creepy and disrespectful to look any closer there.”

There were many Halloween costume references that appeared in the comments of the post. “The whole thing feels awkward and cheap, and the weird collaging that she's in love with is frankly just badly done. This feels like a flyer I would get in a pizza box. What are we even doing here?” another user asked.

Others ventured that the album artwork looked bad “on purpose” with one user speculating, “Alright, that’s it. I’m convinced she and her team are running some type of social experiment at this point. There’s no way they think this is remotely sexy, interesting, or even acceptable.”
