Tom Bradycannot just stay away from the game!
The retired quarterback is stepping back onto the field once again, this time for the inaugural Fanatics Flag Football Classic. Brady last played in 2023 after briefly retiring in 2022, only to quickly return for another season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Tom Brady first entered the league in 2000 as a sixth-round draft pick for the New England Patriots, where he won six Super Bowls before claiming his seventh and final ring with the Buccaneers in 2022.
Tom Brady Does 3rd Retirement U-Turn To Lead Global Flag Football Event In Saudi Arabia

Brady is trading in retirement for competition once again. The former New England Patriots star will headline a new international flag football showcase on March 21, 2026, at Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The event is part of Riyadh Season and will bring together top athletes and former legends for a one-of-a-kind tournament. Brady says he is eager to return to action, highlighting the appeal of flag football as a game that unites fans across generations. In his words:
"I couldn't be more excited to return to the field, get the competitive juices flowing alongside some of the game's brightest stars and iconic legends."
He also made it clear he has his eyes on winning the trophy. Organizers have confirmed the three-team format: each squad will feature eight players, with the top two advancing to a final showdown.
The games will be broadcast live on FOX Sports and streamed on Tubi, making it accessible to fans worldwide. According to Fox News, comedian Kevin Hart has also joined the lineup, taking on hosting duties to keep the energy high throughout the event.

True to form, Brady is not signing up just for fun; he is in it to win, much like the last time he returned to the field and led Tampa Bay to victory. He will not be alone. The Fanatics Flag Football Classic will bring together three stacked teams in a round-robin format.
The lineup features an all-star cast, including Saquon Barkley, CeeDee Lamb, Christian McCaffrey, Sauce Gardner, Myles Garrett, Brock Bowers, Maxx Crosby, Tyreek Hill, Odell Beckham Jr., and his longtime teammate Rob Gronkowski.
Coaching duties will be handled by Pete Carroll, Sean Payton, and Kyle Shanahan, with even more names from sports and entertainment expected to join in the months ahead. This one is shaping up to be a spectacle.
Asante Samuel Wished The Former Quarterback Back On The Field

Brady's latest return to competition might feel especially sweet for former teammate Asante Samuel. Back in 2023, Samuel openly pleaded for Brady to come out of retirement and rejoin the Patriots to save a season that was quickly unraveling.
The Blast highlighted Samuel's frustration at the time, when he told TMZ Sports that New England was "a terrible team" without Brady under center. He insisted that if Brady suited up, even immediately, he could still deliver another championship.
Samuel also pointed a finger at longtime coach Bill Belichick, calling him a failure whenever Brady was not leading the offense.
The Patriots' history with Brady speaks for itself: nine Super Bowl appearances and six victories under his leadership. By contrast, 2023 exposed a struggling roster, punctuated by a 38–0 blowout loss to the Saints that left the team at 1–4.
The 7-Time Super Bowl Champion's Second Retirement Did Not Last Forever

When Samuel pleaded for Brady to return in 2023, the 48-year-old had just stepped away from the NFL for the second time. Brady first called it quits in early 2022, but only weeks later reversed course and suited up again for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
That season ended with a playoff appearance, but the Bucs were knocked out in the opening round by the Dallas Cowboys. Not long after, he signaled that his career was officially done.
Brady broke the news himself in a short video posted to X (formerly Twitter), making it clear there would be no more comebacks. Fighting back emotion, he thanked fans, family, teammates, and even his rivals, saying the sport had given him a life beyond what he ever imagined.

Brady does not just return to the field for any reason. A look at the past shows his recent decision to play is not the first time he has made a comeback for something that mattered.
One moment in 2022, right after his first retirement, could have had something to do with why he chose to keep playing a little longer. While in England to support Cristiano Ronaldo at Old Trafford, Brady witnessed the footballer deliver a record-setting performance that lit up the stadium.
The Blast highlighted how the two icons crossed paths after the match, with SkySports sharing a clip of Ronaldo asking Brady if he was really "finished" with football. Brady's expression in that moment suggested he was not ready to shut the door completely.
By the very next day, March 13, 2022, Brady made it official that he was back. For someone who thrives on competition, it seems Ronaldo's brilliance on the pitch may have been the spark Brady needed.
Tom Brady's latest comeback proves that even in retirement, his competitive fire is still burning strong.
