Hemsworth was previously married to Miley Cyrus before the two called it quits in 2020, barely two years after tying the knot.

Gabriella Brooks Announces Engagement To Liam Hemsworth

On Friday, September 12, Brooks shared a three-slide picture carousel on Instagram announcing that she and Hemsworth are now engaged.

The first slide featured a black-and-white picture of the couple. Brooks was captured standing behind Hemsworth with her arms wrapped lovingly around him. 

In the second slide, the 29-year-old actress showed a scenic view of a glistening ocean at sunset. Meanwhile, the third slide featured her hand on a white sheet, showing off the huge engagement ring on her finger. She also reposted the same on her Instagram story. 

Brooks' dazzling ring featured a huge princess-cut diamond sitting on an elegant gold band. The eye-catching jewelry also featured hints of gold designs along its borders.

According to People Magazine, the couple sparked engagement rumors last month when the actress was spotted in Ibiza, wearing a ring on her engagement finger. 

The newly engaged couple was first seen together in 2019, when they were spotted having lunch with Hemsworth's parents in Australia. However, they didn't publicly acknowledge the romantic nature of their relationship until 2021.

Hemsworth's engagement comes two months after his ex-wife, Cyrus, took a dig at him while signing an autograph for a fan. 

As The Blast reported, the fan, who was named Liam, handed the pop singer a vinyl copy of her latest album, "Endless Summer Vacation: Something Beautiful," to sign. She then addressed the signed album "To the best Liam," a clear dig at her former flame. 

The fan shared a picture of the signed vinyl on X with the caption: "Miley writing 'the best Liam' on my vinyl [crying emoji]" The fan also shared a picture of himself smiling while standing next to Cyrus. The caption cheekily read, "Me when I'm the best Liam."

The former couple's love story dates as far back as 2009, after they co-starred in "The Last Song." They had an on-and-off romantic relationship that went on until 2018, when they got married.

However, barely a year after tying the knot, they decided to go their separate ways, and their divorce was finalized in 2020.

Just a month before Cyrus and Hemsworth secretly tied the knot in 2018, tragedy struck. 

The couple was part of the many Malibu residents who lost their homes to the Woolsey wildfire. The mansion was valued at $2.525 million. 

Speaking on the incident, the 32-year-old singer said that it was a blessing in disguise because it gave her a chance to rebuild. 

"When my house burned down, that was the biggest blessing I've ever had in my life, actually," she said. "Losing everything and being able to rebuild and to be able to be purposeful and choose every piece that I'm gonna collect, or also just about the people in my life," she added, per The Blast.

Still reflecting on the loss of her Malibu mansion, Cyrus said that the fire also signified the end of the relationship she had with several people in her life. 

The "Flowers" singer took it as the end of an era, saying that "a lot of relationships also burned down" with her house, and the experience caused her to look at life with more gratitude. 

Cyrus also sent a heartwarming message to her younger self, telling her to appreciate the dark times as they were only leading her to the light.
