Glen Powell Responds to Ex-GF's Claims About Sydney Sweeney Affair: 'Everybody's Always Going To Have Their Own Narrative'

Glen Powell has finally broken his silence on the accusations made by his ex-girlfriend, Gigi Paris, following their 2023 split.
The model alleged that their split was fueled by the rumours of an off-screen romance between Powell and his “Anyone But You” co-star, Sydney Sweeney.
That narrative might be changing, however, as “The Hit Man” star was recently spotted with American YouTuber Olivia Jade Giannulli, fueling fresh chatter about his love life.
Glen Powell Respects Gigi Paris But Counters Her Narrative Of Their Split
Paris had opened up about her version of their split, claiming that for the duration Powell and Sweeney were shooting the romantic comedy “Anyone But You”, the Texas-born actor and the producers asked her not to show up on the set.
In an interview with GQ Magazine, “The Hit Man” actor revealed that he did not completely agree with Paris’ side of the story.
Reiterating his love and respect for the model, Powell said, "I will always have nothing but love for her and respect for her.” However, he stated that there are always two sides to every story, and it was not any different in this case.
"Everybody’s always going to have their own narrative on things and all that. And she’s welcome to it," the “Top Gun: Maverick” star remarked, while acknowledging her opinion.
“Relationships are really hard,” the 36-year-old confessed. “And when two people break up, they each go to their own brunch and they will each tell their own narrative,” he continued.
Gigi Paris Gets Candid About The Split And The Rumours That Fueled It
Back in June, the 32-year-old model shared that she did not take the romance chatter about her then-boyfriend and his co-star well.
Paris revealed that when she confronted Powell, he brushed it off by allegedly saying it was what he “had to do” for his job.
According to The Blast, Powell’s response rubbed Paris the wrong way. "I know that I deserve a lot better, and I know that the bare minimum of any relationship is to have your partner's back," she recalled bitterly.
"All that needed to be said was, 'I would never cheat on my girlfriend,'" Paris confessed. The Miami-born model resolved that she could "either pretend like I was going along with everything… or stand up for myself."
That decision was not an easy one for Paris as she revealed that she “bawled on the plane” on her way to break up with Powell. However, she admitted that the only sort of comfort she could get from the situation was that Powell and Sweeney ended up together.
Sydney Sweeney Dismisses Romance Speculations With Glen Powell
Sweeney herself has also addressed the chatter of a possible off-screen romance between her and Powell. The 27-year-old actress brushed off the rumours, claiming they were both working hard on their parts.
"It's a rom-com. That's what people want!" she teased. "Glen and I don't really care. We have so much fun together, and we respect each other so much. He's such a hard worker, and I'm a hard worker," she added.
Powell and Sweeney had embarked on a highly expressive and teasing promotional campaign for their movie. "They want it. It's fun to give it to 'em," Sweeney noted, referring to the fans.

Even though Powell had previously admitted to using the rumours of his off-screen romance with Sweeney to promote their movie, he broke his silence after the “Reality” actress attended his sister’s wedding in Texas.
As reported by The Blast, Powell revealed that Sweeney and his sister, Leslie, were in fact friends.
He boasted that his family knew how to throw parties, saying, "The Powells know how to do it right.” Hence, all the people who cared for his sister were in attendance.
Powell’s mom, Cyndy, illuminated the issue further by reiterating that there was nothing between her son and Sweeney.
"They're definitely not together," she stated firmly. Clarifying further, she explained, "We love Sydney. We've considered her just a really, really good friend."
Is There Something New Brewing Between Powell And Olivia Jade Giannulli?
While Powell and Sweeney have been confirmed to be just friends, the "Set It Up" actor has been linked to another industry big name.
The Blast reported that Powell and Giannulli were spotted enjoying dinner with a group of friends in II Cantorini, New York City.
The pair were both dressed casually, with Powell sporting a baseball cap and a white T-shirt, and the “Immaculate” star donning a top and a bucket hat.
The night out did not end with dinner, as the duo was seen at the Treasure Club bar in Times Square and left in the same car at about 2 AM that morning.
